Of course I understand… My question to him was why choose sweden , the most expensive, hard to get a job without the speaking swedish, extreme cold climate..been snowing since oct and still going..) compared to other EU countries.. for example spain where the weather is nice etc…
FYI for all of us immigrants here at swedish language school its one of the first questions we ask each other after, whats your name and where are you from.. then why are you here? Because everyone is here for a variety of reasons, love, family, work, asylym and refugee.
His reply as I said was that they chose Sweden because its the easiest application and they pretty much accept everyone.
Employment is very hard to find here.. even a qualified swede has a difficult time. So I think my question was asked in a genuine way.. I know that I have as a white westerner, and a qualified professional with a long and successful career… I have found some things extremely difficult, and without the support of my swedish partner to even do simple things like make a doctors appointment I would be fucked.
Sweden is incredibily hard to integrate into.
The problem with some of the larger cities now is that is is incredibily segregated.
They are even now proposing a change if law that they can place refugees etc where there are resources to cope, for exampe the free swedish language courses that are on offer in every kommun. At the moment stockholm, and the other large cities are stretched to breaking point with available resources.
Give me some credit. I am neither ignorant nor stupid.
And for the record, if you go to live in another country, then yes you should abide by their laws.
