I never thought I’d find myself saying this but I was mentioning on another forum how the authorities and the people in Malaysia and Singapore are actually now showing more compassion to users than in UK and some other European nations.
Although they still have very harsh laws, they have actually stopped hanging younger users, increased the amounts which were classed as small posession and improved the quality of their rehab! Loads of people including my own cousins have said this…
Even when a pop star fucks up on drugs in SE Asia provided they aren’t dealers (and/or contravenes other moral codes) its true their records get censored and they are often sacked or suspended from their record deal – but often this gives them the time away from publicity to sort themselves out.
they also make a big thing about trying to get users back with their families and working with faith groups to ensure they are actually forgiven within society and also back into work/education..
