I’ve read a few sources claiming that “Mandy” was originally used but “molly” increasingly refers to a cheaper but impure blend of MDMA and cathinones, sold to increase profits, a bit like how American promoters have diluted and contaminated the global EDM scene!

@deadmau5 do you need to be reminded that you would be pointless if it wasn’t for molly and ecstasy ?
I don’t get Deadmau5 either. Why does he wear that paper mache’ mouse (yes MOUSE not MAU5) on his head? And why does he substitute the letter s with a 5?
Is he deformed with learning difficulties?
I thought it was because your eyes roll into the back of your head.
I dont like the term either, but you need a “doing word” dont you? Like he is “tripping” “stoned” “jellied”

We always just used to say “getting pilled up” or “getting mullered” (if it was to be a combination of drugs).

his mental health has been brought into question on a few occasions (though I find it extremely hard to be sympathetic to “depressed” celebrities when in many cases the source of their condition is not being able to come to terms with the fact their fame is ending or diminishing or that performing isn’t as “fun” as it could be, nor is any other job).
but I think he is just milking what he can from the North American EDM scene.
The promoters are trying to hold “North European” type events with “South American” standards of event management / health and safety and it is only a matter of time before something really nasty like a massive armed Police raid against a promoter who didn’t pay their kickbacks or some sketchy fucker smuggling in a gun and shooting up a bunch of “kandy kids” happens.

I was gonna paste this last night, but i googled the lyrics first to ee if it was fitting and i couldn’t make sense of it really.
As far as i can recall in Aus we used the word rolling same like the UK
ofc everyone likes the terms they are used to and find ones they haven’t heard unusual… its all arbitrary tho, and not a huge distance in state of mind from being like ‘eww that curry stinks,’ or ‘i don’t like slanty eyes, they look funny.’

It’s like a cannibal saying ‘I ain’t ever eating comedian again, they taste funny’!

I don’t see it that way at all. It’s just that usually there is some logical reason for certain turns of phrase but this one doesn’t seem to have one unless it is actually about your eyes rolling up in your head.
“Pilling” for example is self explanatory or “getting hammered” or “getting wasted”.
Rolling still seems like it should be a stoner term to me.

That would make more sense, as molly in my mind just is basically something yucky.
