Can’t help but share their angst – although cannabis clearly has more potential medical benefits than tobacco many of the USA “cannabis startup entrepreneurs” clearly just want to make profits.

The history of this company is not unlike that of a US startup business; complete with tech innovations ( a machine that could make more cigs than the others Wills/ITL then used) and disrupting the market dominance of larger companies – and clever marketing campaigns (complete with a kitty cat!) aimed at diverse communities of smokers especially females and more sporty men who did not want “cigarettes that hurt their throat” – but of course over the years it sold out to Rothmans Int and then BAT.
if USA liberalised/legal cannbis is left to the market this is exactly what might happen; at least until the regulators step in after many court battles and folk having got ill whilst others have become dependent on the trade of harmful products; whilst any medical benefits got overlooked/sidelined.
TBH todays British American Tobacco is actually open, transparent and honest about how they operate – they basically say “this stuff is all bad for you; you shouldn’t smoke it if below 18 and it will still kill you” – but we provide a fuck load of jobs for people worldwide, co-operate with the authorities on age restrictions etc; and if you want to know what is in your cig look on our website and we tell you (and indeed they do).
this dileimma will always affect any substance that is both pleasurable but may have some medical benefits; but IMO if even UK NPS vendors had operated to similar standards as BAT perhaps govt might not have been able to shut them down so easily.
Another concern of mine about legalised USA cannabis markets is the risk of some better quality blends (i.e that make you happy but not paranoid) being pushed out of the market by high THC types or heavy processed ones that cause paranoia etc and this fucking up the whole thing especially if folk actually elect Donald Trump.
