  • My mate has been served one of these and is awaiting a call from the council.

It’s in regard to a party that was on a piece of land that had been served a noise abatement.

    What does it actually mean?

It means that if someone complains about him making excessive noise he’ll get in trouble. Altho I’m not sure if it’s for him where ever he goes … or just in the location it was given for.

Thanks, That’s what i thought but wanted to be 100% sure.

A lot of equipment was seized at this party at a hefty cost to the council and police.
Any advice about getting anything back? They took pretty much everything you can think off decks, amps, genny’s and records.
My mate went to the council to try get his records back and that’s how he ended up with the section 80 on his doorstep this morning.

Shit not good. I’m not really sure on how to go about getting equip back. Probably best to talk to a lawyer or solicitor (i never know the difference between the two lol). You never know there might be some loophole where you can get the abatement lifted because it wasn’t given at the time … I doubt it but worth talking to a pro about it as well just encase.

P.S. I take it he didn’t get his records back? 🙁

No he hasn’t got his records back yet.

I think he’s gonna wait and see what the outcome of the phone call from the council is before he pursues it any further then what he has done already.

let me know what happens man.
