  • OK, so I just got this letter through this morning:

“Your Vehicle (Citreon blah blah) was recently sighted attending a rave In XXXX on the XXxX.

I am writing to Inform you you that should your vehicle be seen attending any future rave In Nottinghamshire the police have powers to seize It under then 62(1)(trespassers on land) or section 64(4)(amplified music at night) of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994.

The playing of loud music and future raves will not be tolerated as the cause great annoyance to the local neighbourhood.

If you wish to discuss this matter further then please contact the local beat manager XXXX at Newark Police Station on XXX”

Not had this before. Course they can actually act on It, but what’s the likelihood they would seize my car? And this would only mean It gets Impounded right? Getting a car next week anyway. Failing that I’ll use the other one hehe.

Anyone else had It or know anything about the seriousness of it?

Got done under operation ‘snap shot’ in the 90s but nowt came of it.

Yeah Ive never heard anyone (except maybe crews) getting stuff seized before.

Nah it’s gotta be bollocks mate, there’s no way in hell they can seize your motor just for that! I think there just trying to intimidate ya! :you_crazy

This is a standard letter which is sent to loads of people.

It does often however mean your vehicle is being watched as a “known rave unit”. if it is seen more than once even if they dont’ immediately seize it details are often passed to black rats (traffic) who may (if bored) keep closer watch on your for any sort of driving offence or just to check if you have drugs.

Its normally only people associated with crews who have vehicles seized but the cops in East Anglia are now also doing this against stubborn people, stragglers or those who are too sketchy on ketamine (and of course they can argue that they shouldn’t be driving anyway in that state!)

its difficult to legally defend seizing a vehicle off someone who only goes every few weeks. however one what is seen on heli footage parked always near the stack or rig van and is a “regular” will be noted as someone potentially involved with the rave.

also as your name is on the reg document if you are known to cops they can index you against lists of your associates etc (but this would only happen if you are a dealer or organiser whom they already have a record on)

    “known rave unit”

What is the world coming to….

Heres one I seized early in the 1990s

They often tow cars form outside partys, but this is normally only when there all parked up along a main road as it can be dangerous. They even nearly towed my mates car from outside waveform but luckily we got there just in time and blagged them.

good thing you got there in time but thats a worse situation as waveform is a legal event, this means the organisers hadn’t properly done their traffic management and caused a hazard :hopeless:
