WTF is wrong with normal lamps that you switch on at the wall switch?
if you really feel you must control these things from your PC/phone and are too lazy to get up to the wall switch then there are smartswitches (although some of them can be equally insecure).
if you want “disco lamps” in a room of your house these have been widely available for 10 years and can be plugged in separately in the same way as table/desk lamps (usually the ceiling lampholder in most houses is only any good for strong white light otherwise you can’t see properly in the dark anyway). You can control them with DMX protocol if you want remote control. Needs a few more cables and a bit of brainwork, but much more secure and robust.
Putting an entire 2,4 GHz wifi stack into a lamp is daft for a large variety of reasons. Even worse is using this IOT stuff to control any strong appliance at 230/400V (heaters, industrial equipment etc) or critical building control systems.
In FI this entire block ended up with heating shut down through a DDOS attack, and it is -7 there at the moment..
