Well I am gonna keep my eye out for a festi that will suit my intentions (arrive at the beginning and stay on a session till the end) Nothing like waking up and making breakfast with a splif and a pint of Vodka coke :biggreen:

innit i like gettin mashed in front of a soundsystem n talkin codshit all night to any random person, if there were kids there i’d feel kinda odd, like doin smack in a primary school :laugh_at:

i dunno to me, and my friend (who would be against doing drugs, infront of kids) it didnt really feel like that, everyone who was there would never smoke infornt of the kids at all, no one would be doing a line infront of anyone. most kids would be in bed by seven. anyway drugs are bad and noone does drugs at shambala:wink:

seriously man, no-one needs to worry there. there was a small family camping area and really weren’t that many kids at all (unless you count under 18 teenagers as kids).

the website makes it look a lot more namby-pamby than real life, it was bare mash up. its just a bit more about the community vibe than other music festivals.

full of hippies and birds who don’t shave

it is a family friendly site that provides an excellent varied choice of activitiess

    well said.

all mammal species, including youghurt weavers, will react when they feel their offspring may be threatened.

just because people claim to be hippies doesn’t always mean they agree with or will tolerate people doing or selling drugs next to their young children, even if they do them themselves. Particularly if the kids are at the danger age of 10-15 when they wish to start behaving more than adults. It doesn’t matter how right on people claim to be, if they feel their kids are in any sort of “danger” (however irrational their fears may be) they will take action.

People may not directly grass (and of course a post on a forum isn’t directly admissible evidence without other evidence to back it up) but the councils and police force which acts as the ultimate licensing authority are always “open to suggestions” from those attending if you get what i mean.

Before you know it, there is an “increased security presence” for the next event as part of the licensing conditions.

And people who say “they saw no police on site” mean they saw no “uniformed police on site”.

In many cases policing a festival will involve the use of plain clothes detectives from an out of area force so they are less easily recognised, and there are plenty of young police officers who could easily blend into a festival crowd if they wanted to, including some who were once themselves ravers.
