Distraction therapy works too – we both quit using that and the other half used nicotine patches as well
Nicotine clears out of your system quickly anyway and after its gone its gone – a few hours as its a poison of scary toxicity
6 days.. things are up and down like a f*cking yoyo tbh! I am close to losing my job due to arguments and snaps at work, general chit chat and banter is changed, every little thing is starting to fuck me right off.. at the same time though – general health is starting to feel better, no smokey smell on clothing, sense of smell and taste are increased!
I really want to give it a shot this time, however, going cold turkey is bluddy ruff!

never heard of this Zyban, how does it stop you smoking? can’t be bothered to wiki it today =D
Depression
You may feel temporarily in a state of depression after giving up smoking. This is due to the fact that nicotine has antidepressant qualities. It releases dopamine into the brain, which is a chemical that makes us feel happy and content.
Once the nicotine is removed and the dopamine levels fall, you may have feelings of depression.
To combat this try to stay positive at all times and surround yourself with family and friends during difficult times. If you feel really bad, consult your doctor and asked to be prescribed with Zyban, an antidepressant that is being used to treat nicotine withdrawal.
Allen Carr’s Easy Way to Stop Smoking: Amazon.co.uk: Allen Carr: Books
the thing with stopping any addiction – the first thing is mindset = I dont mean to harp on but these books really do help with breaking a lot of myths
Also dont think about it as ‘giving something up’ – your not ……your stopping
If the NHS and money making companies tell you its difficult or hard – this is the mindset you’ll have as this is what we are all lead to believe – there fore they can continue to make money – selling nicotine replacement stuff or getting you to pay for prescritptions
when I stopped I had a couple of difficult nights sleep, but with in days I was back to my normal (well abnormal) sleep pattern, noticed no other withdrawal’s, was so so happy I wasnt smoking and chained to the 40 fags a day I was smoking I had no depression or aggitation.
I know its different for everyone – but I think PMA is the first thing you need
stay strong Diceface :group_hug
thankyou for your support. well ive made it 8 days cold turkey without killing anyone, fucked my knuckles up from punching a wall in a moment of rage earlyer today (other reasons contributed to that) but other than that I have remained in control.
I hope to give it another week and see what happens, I am not promising myself anything but still really want to give it a propper go this.
they say the first week is the toughest and I have conquered that so hopefully more good things to come! 🙂
I’ve ordered the Allen Carr book. going to give it a go again soon.
I must of tried giving up about 15 times now. Damn this pipe weed and damn them hobbits for giving it to me in the first place.

nearly been 2 weeks already. food tastes like food again. I can smell everything (esp others peoples cigarette smoke), and breathe in deeply again. my veins have a tingling/tickly sensation all the time due to a normal flow of oxygen and blood reterning. I feel like walking all the time. I cant keep still. nor can I stop talking. I think am starting to get on some peoples nerves, including my own. its all for the greater good I guess. still missing smoking sometimes. after meals. during work. after other things!!!! I have to start thinking like a non smoker, not as a smoker trying to quit smoking. I will beat this deamon! arse
