Last August Bank Holiday Saturday saw a SELL OUT crowd of 10,000 people descend onto Clapham Common to dance the afternoon away to the sounds of some of the biggest names in dance including SASHA, XPRESS 2 and ERICK MORILLO. This summer the SOUTH WEST FOUR FESTIVAL returns as part of the METRO WEEKENDER and will be officially LONDON’S BIGGEST OUTDOOR DANCE EVENT!
The METRO WEEKENDER is a combination of last year’s GET LOADED and SOUTH WEST FOUR days on Clapham Common both days have come together to create a brand new festival experience for London. Metro is the UK’s largest free newspaper and distributes over a million copies a day, half of these in London. As the title sponsor Metro will cover exclusive line up news, ticket offers and everything you need to know about the festival.
Back for 2005 this summer’s SOUTH WEST FOUR will be bigger, better and stronger than last years’ event. Split into 3 DISTINCT ARENAS, the MAIN OUTDOOR ARENA will play host to three of the greatest DJs of all time: SASHA (back to headline for the second year!), CARL COX and JOHN DIGWEED, Three DJ’s who really need no introduction at all. Joining them will be the mighty SHAPESHIFTERS and ERIC PRYDZ who have both achieved No.1 singles in the UK with ‘Lola’s Theme’ & ‘Call On Me’ respectively and UK talent JAMES ZABIELA
ARENA TWO will host for the first time ever in London the ‘SPACE TERRACE ARENA’. Anyone who’s ever set foot in Ibiza or knows their house music will know the SPACE TERRACE, who’s legendary day time sessions have won the venue the ‘best club in the world’ title on many occasions. SW4 will recreate the infamous SPACE TERRACE vibe, hosted by the imitable ‘King Of Space’ STEVE LAWER and featuring one of the UK pioneers of dance music DANNY RAMPLING alongside two of the hottest names in house and ‘We Love…’ residents NIC FANCLIULLI and PAUL WOOLFORD alongside SPACE RESIDENTS JOSE DIVINA and SIN PLOMO.
Rounding off the festival line up will be the HEAT ARENA, dedicated to the more full on sounds of trance and harder dance featuring the one and only TALL PAUL alongside fast rising trance superstar ASTRIX who’ll be performing a SPECIAL LIVE SET for SW4, one of the most unique trance DJ’s out there JOHN OO FLEMING, the king of hard dance ROB TISSERA, Kiss FM resident JOHN ASKEW, one of the UK’s hardest working live performers K90 LIVE and HEATUK resident IAN BETTS guarenteeing the HEAT ARENA will serve those who like their BPM’s harder and faster!
After CLAPHAM COMMON dust off your disco boots and head over to the OFFICIAL AFTER PARTY taking place at the BRIXTON ACADEMY where the heavyweights continue as 4,500 clubbers continue til 6am with a host of headline DJs and a whole host of FRESH TALENT will keep you amused until Sunday morning! (Line up TBC)
