    Tripside!

I want some Absinthe from Europe:hopeless:

La Fé just doesn’t do the job.

Although the alcohol bill for this weekend = £100:groucho:

    2 x 24 carlsberg, 5 x 10pk stella, 3 x 70cl buckfast, 1 x 24 stella, 70cl vodka and 1 x 70cl whisky.

Its going to be a good weekend:groucho::bounce_fl:crazy::wink:

wormwood grows easily in this climate

just take a small, fresh bushel… chuck it in a pint of vodka, leave it for half and hour (or to taste), strain out the herbs, and serve on ice

only a week? most tinctures are left for 2-3 weeks

    Have it!

FFS, didn’t think they’d actually DO it…since when has Freeway et al carried thru with their threats/promises?

    The mind boggles.

It’s maintenance work, you absolute mongs. Sometimes servers have to be moved about and rejigged.

You’re obviously not a member of the elite if you don’t know that.

It doesn’t exactly hurt given the posts of Shamone/Si at the last bank holiday though.

I do, because that server is pretty heavily locked down and I know what’s actually happening this weekend.

Besides, I post here occasionally. It’s just the fluffy vibe and blatant ‘PM ME PARTY INFO PLS LOL’ posts that makes me throw up in my mouth a bit.

I have heard ginger helps with nausea :groucho:

Not coming here would help with that…

Sheesh, is banter not allowed on here or something? I’m just more used to people actually knowing each other a bit and exchanging info they’ve gotten hold of amongst their friends rather than posting openly in a thread.

and thats exactly what newbies who post just asking for party info get encouraged to do…

Once they say where they are from, what music they like, what parties they previously have been to it becomes easier for others to trust and help them.

dunno how old you are but the fluffy vibe was how raves used to be in their “better” days and is still the overriding attitude in some areas. They were an escape from the shittier aspects of inner city life or boring rural areas with nothing to do, and an escape from the townie culture rather than an extension of it..

Some of us think “Manchester” was better than “Gunchester”…

there’s too much “tinfoil helmet” paranoia over “deep cover infiltrators” anyway, when they aren’t even needed to track events that ultimately lead to big noisy gatherings!

when it was tried back in the 90s all that happened is the Police just lost a lot of young detectives to the drugs culture as they found raves to be more fun than coppering….

Believe me, nobody I know appreciates ‘gunchester’, although that’s probably because we have to deal with it.

I’m not naieve, and it’s fairly obvious that the police simply don’t have the resources to pre-emptively search for parties. As you say, the noise is more than enough to alert them.

What I do object to is that after a party they can just browse to a few well-known sites and do a quick search to find out a whole bunch of information publicly viewable.

fair enough, but TBH both here and SJ have taken a lot of steps to discourage people from doing this for parties in the South of the country. it did however have to get to the point where two organisers in SE ENgland got ASBOs because the SJ forum gallery and posts were used to convict them.

Also, until 2004 the authorities (surprisingly) never made that much use of the online information, I remember for years threads on here and SJ where rig names, even crew members names were mentioned and nothing happened to anybody, when it would have been fairly trivial for the cops to actually identify people if they really wanted to!

What I have noticed is that some Northern crews today, do appear to be a lot more blatant than Southern crews.

People from the North are still doing stuff like putting partylines in posts, sometimes when forum moderators mention the potential security risks they are told “its not a problem / we should stick up for our free speech and not give in to babylon” and all that sort of malarkey.

when mods/admins do step in and actively remove incriminating items, some people even move away from forums and post more bait stuff on murdochspace and bebo etc which is all run by corporates and set up in a way that its really easy to track individuals..

we can’t protect everyone or stop them posting stuff online, people have to use their own sense of responsibility…

You come across far too defensive. I wasn’t commenting on the board itself, more the users that are here and their attitudes.

The things you mention about the north are precisely why parties up this way have become a lot harder to manage lately. It’s becoming a horrible climate and I know at least a few local crews who are keeping it all to a close group of people they know, which means parties of 300 people at the most.

It’s precisely the ‘fuck de babylon’ attitude that has led to there being no big party this weekend from the usual crews.

I totally agree with the comment about people having their own sense of responsibility but that’s not exactly prevalent in modern culture.

I don’t know if you are judging this site on new stuff or posts from 4-5 years ago (when people were a bit more lax and could get away with it). People who don’t use this site regularly, and/or those who are younger think there is more bait as threads on here have been known to last years!

There are indeed threads which initially start with lots of people expecting to be spoon-fed party info; but most of these posts are from around 2002-03.

Before then you could put a whole list of partylines on a website and the cops wouldn’t do jack shit about it – we used to have a static page of partylines which worked for years and no one got any grief.

These days users learn a lot quicker, particularly the ones down south where things got harsher from 2004 onwards (as a scan of our posts mentioning party busts in those areas will show!)

this is happening countrywide with the better parties.

At the same time we need new people as others get older and stop partying for a variety of reasons, so there has to be some way of getting the more sensible younger people party info. IME it isn’t even the teenagers who are responsible for a lot of the bait info being posted, but slightly older people who get a bit complacent, arrogant or who might (due to crew politics) deliberately want to sabotage an event.

well if they don’t regain this sense of responsibility at a time of mounting opposition to free parties from wider society, there will simply be less events for them to go to.
