  • Anyone heard of this ship? It sunk in WW2, It lies in the Thames Estuary and the ship is chock-a-block full of explosives. The full list is –

    • 286 2000lb bombs
    • 4439 1000lb bombs of various types
    • 1925 500lb bombs
    • 2815 fragmentation bombs and bomb clusters
    • Smoke bombs including white phosphorus smoke bombs
    • Signals
    • Boosters

    It’s literally a ticking time bomb as there is no way of salvaging the wreck. Would be quite fucked up if it went up!! :crazy:

    Depends really on which area of the Thames it lays on – some areas of London could do with being levelled!

    According to a BBC news report,[3] in 1970 it was determined that if the wreck of the SS Richard Montgomery exploded, it would throw a 1000-foot (300 m) wide column of water and debris nearly 10,000 feet (3,000 m) in the air and generate a wave 16 feet (5 m) high. Almost every window in Sheerness (pop. c20,000) would be broken and buildings would be damaged by the blast

    now that would be mega to watch! ( from a safe distance of course!)
