TBH thats fair enough given the amount of responsibility that is put on promoters heads nowadays for peoples safety, its not something they would have done for fun or to gather data on people and given the current social problems in London not even that excessive (I don’t mean risk of terrorists etc but these events are known to attract “middle class trendy youngsters from out of area” and if the promoters don’t do this local scum will prey on the nice people).

yep form 696 but the urban brap brap lot do have a tendency to have serious violent incidents on their events.

When it was introduced for them they kicked up a fuss and said “ooh, its racist” so metpol have decided every music event must have that check.. now even the hipsters are being grilled when they want to put on music events in Ipswich (80 miles away), they are trying to have an arts/performance space in a empty building here but its taking a while for the Council to sort things out.

I know a couple of the Councillors and they are sound and want it to happen but they have to judge everything on previous track record and every music event here and across the wider eastern reason has been blighted by violence (not any one type of music), even the gig scene had two 40-45 year olds fight each other and one got glassed or stabbed, everyones on a very short fuse. there was a gang riot at the peace festival in North Essex a few years ago! I was at the barbers yesterday and even the hairdresser said that she was wary to go out in town because it was getting too rough and although the cops have stopped most of the trouble all the “friendly” venues are closing leaving a core of angry people..
