People on SJ are moaning about not being able to get in (think its same event) so they must have been limiting things to an extent. How do people wrack up lines at an indoor licenced event I never understood that part (without risking being kicked out/causing the event organisers a load of problems).
its not impossible but not as easy as it once was, particularly in provincial towns where the security are the same rentaguards you would see on the front counter of offices or in shops and aren’t going to lose their SIA card for collusion with drug users, particularly those who’ve not just had to leave their home countries but have put in a lot of study to get it (its not all about being “ug, big man” all the time these days!)
I recently got sent an interesting magazine about the local underground music scene of East Anglia way back in the 1960s, written by some folk who were a big part of it back in the day, I also speak to a lot of older people in my area. TBH they got up to as much if not more than we did, and all in licensed premises too but the difference was people back then accepted that drugs are illegal and they cannot blatantly take them in public, (no cautions then, if you got caught you’d basically fucked up your future prospects as your own local community would judge you as harshly as the Courts) and therefore users were far more discreet and often delberately very friendly and polite even to authority figures, who would then think “oh, a harmless hippy” and leave them be..

As you guys saw I was a bit fucked up, I think next time you got something good going on up your way, we should make the effort to come to you. I know I would be up for it.
Hmm thing with that is there’s very rarely anything good up on there that doesn’t happen down here and doesn’t cost twice as much as it does in London for less hours… when Chris plays up in Scotland it’s usually at least a £10 and it stops at 3am!!!!
That’s why people travel from Scotland to London for parties like that coz they just don’t happen up there x
yep nowadays only London and some English cities and/or towns in socially deprived areas license events after 6am – its only because in these areas the youth death rates from RTC, suicides and addictive drugs are high enough anyway to mask the relatively low body count caused by “drug friendly” nightlife and the populations of these areas are transient (in small towns young people dying before their time causes a bit of a local outcry which is fair enough as families are close knit and even “locals but strangers” do care about each other).
and both our govt and majority population is too fucking dumb to realise that a combination of tolerance and sensible behaviour would reduce this body count to nearly zero (other than PMA I’ve not read about pill deaths in Dutch news, nor even stuff like people sketching out and getting knocked down by trams etc)
Loggy you also had a bomb of mandy i gave you lol…so a bit of a concoction.
I liked the party but im def more of an out door party person ( free parties or festies) Maybe we could hit one up this enc on my birthday?
Party was also a bit of a sausage fest..many a wondering hand which freaked me out a bit :/

That really sucks one of the big things my wife liked about the scene was she didn’t get felt up by pissed up wankers like you do in the mainstream clubs and shitty pubs

even free parties in this area were infested by the same bullshit what goes on in townie venues, which was a big reason they got closed down harder as the feds/ambulance were being called out to deal with the same shit but miles away in rural areas and without the proper backup of modern trained security, so often things escalated far worse by the time the blue lights got there.
The place was packed out with the usual mix of oddballs and aging chavs. My kinda party.
Can’t wait for summer TBH

LOL the aco was really nice, I think it was the fact that I had drank like 6 pints before hand that really killed me off. I just found that speed capsule in my bag by the way LOL

The anagram boys do free nights and we.ve had the geezer up (which was free), but the bummer is that only goes to 3am like you say, and i’ve not come across a mental afterpartty for one of those events yet, this month were getting julian liberator which will be free again, but finishes at 3am, i’m not complaining though don’t wanna sound unappreciative!
Thats the 2 other bald guys we were occasionally hanging around with, kinda short n stocky, lots of peircings dunno if yous saw them

what a wicked weekend 🙂 so good to meet everyone :grouphug: even though i lost you all again pretty much as soon as we got in there !
i tended to end up at the back as there was a little more space there tho still not much, that’s assuming you could even reach the back in the first place ! rear stacks in the main room were good though 🙂
rackett’s opening set in the main room tore it up from the beginning, it was definitely a night for no prisoners ! spent much of the night in the middle room as it was a bit less fast to save me legs 😉 but caught some great sets in the others too raaa left the afterparty about 12.30 and got home about 5 including a 20 minute walk and 45 minute bus ride cos my train had no connection onto home (i realised later i could have got the next train and still been quicker than the bus!) still just waking up now …
Got your text at like 7 in the morning or something man but we had to start calming down as we were packed up n heading back to scotland at 10am 🙁 Thats the really sucky thing about it, we knew from the start that the afterparty had to be a miss 🙁
