  • whatver. wrecking things is cool.

at a party we did recently we had people smash up the plumbing in one of the bathrooms and a few windows. the rest of the warehouse was ok and just needed a mop, but some cunts felt the need to smash things up and cost the owner a shitload, rather than show a bit of respect to the organisers, owners and police who let the whole thing carry on.

i like your avitar 3000flowers ..that film kids is ace ….. but i don’t agree with vandalising at partys alltho it can be fun ..it’s not a good idea … graff looks cool i must admit but as some one put earlyer ..theres a time and a place .. and if there is gonna be graf at a party i like the idea of removeable boards for it to be done on …

Who an earth said no? :you_crazy

time and place. dont do it at partys.

Was writing a loooong reply basically preaching to the converted, but the basic message was don’t wreck shit that doesn’t need to be wrecked. Bad for the scene. Bad for our Image. Bad for parties.

Sure we break the law as It is, and probably do waste tax payers money sometimes even at the most respectful of parties. But the gain of our own social development within the scene is worth it. Fuck going legal and being like most narrow minded twats down town. Not saying there isn’t a massive amount of nobs roaming infront of rigs too :laugh_at:

Basically to get what WE WANT, we need to keep on the good side of everyone as long as possible whilst still having the most fun. This means no breaking, burning, and unnecessary conflicts with coppers (Admittedly they are to blame alot of the time too).

Early morning, where am I actually going with this :weee:

I’m gonna be well pedantic here mate :weee:

We don’t break the law unless a section 63 is called, which makes it illegal AFAIK.

Therefore vandalism and shit at previous parties makes it more likely for the locals to kick off and the police to clampdown, and makes it more likely for them to call Section 63’s.

think it depends where you do the party. your usually still on someone elses land…

but yeah theres been a load of people tagging trees/rocks and anything that doesnt move quick enough round here last summer. Fucking idiots. nothing will bring it on top like tagging a load of trees where people walk there dogs etc. twats.:you_crazy

Tagging anywhere is unacceptable in my opinion. Art on the other hand is completely different. Unacceptable where it might jeapordise peoples homes, like at a squat, but it certainly improves a boring street. Luckily Brighton has a reasonably tolerant attitude to real art, people let guys paint the outside of their houses etc.
Pretty cool place to live 🙂

leaving any permanent mark on where you have been re:free parties should be a def no.

Personally i dont really get the whole tagging thing, i just think it looks shit esp whats the point of tagging the same wall?
Graff on the other hand can look slick and definatly liven up grotty or boring places when done properly…

to be honest, despite our perception of grafiti, nobody else likes it and so it would do us good to restrict this…

who wants more free parties? you do? stop graffiting!

im all for free parties, but id definitely want the place cleared up and left as it was entered, as to keep the neighbours happy… itll give ‘teh movement’ a positive image, people would be more lenient… theyd see that you are not thugs..

i guess in the mean time, before we invent a brain control device to stop people doing bad graffiti, you could just pin up massive black sheets for people to spray on to their hearts content :bounce_g:

its a bit worse than graffiti these days, people go around smashing windows, breaking sinks and toilets (even if they were working before)

when this thread started (4 years ago!!) I didn’t live in EA, I lived in Reading, SE England and we used to have loads of warehouse parties there and cops virtually left us alone..

the squatters could take a building and hold it for months, getting two or three parties out of it

just a few weeks ago some people in Suffolk (Haughley and somewhere near (I think) Elmswell ) got two party buildings but they were bait about it and smashed them up so the cops closed down both their parties… if they’d been more discreet I reckon they could have kept at least one building to use a fair few times..
