they’ve done that here in Eastern England already. Of course they lost, but it made national and international news, caused a debate in Parliament, a bigger clampdown in this area and it means that parties are even harder still to put on now.

    was that this incident?
Ravers lay siege to police station – Telegraph

i guess some people are fucking mental after all!

yep – and worse there were two good reasons cops were on their case

    1. the van used to transport the rigs was already on index for allegedly being used for metal theft in East anglia

    2. the warehouse was in use and the bit planned for the rave was actually a local businesses new premises they were expanding into!

people were fucking stubborn here and rather than try a backup venue or even party next week they brought it on top…

sounds like mob mentality out of control.

there’s a history of mob resistance to authority in East Anglia but it goes back centuries, so it means all cops/authorities here have been trained how to deal with it right from the start. its not even like its a “legitimate” protest such as being anti environmental polllution or similar so the ravers have no chance of getting wider public sympathy…

Two police cars were damaged and several officers received minor cuts and bruises – one was hit in the face by a full can of beer – as the mob screamed for the release of the three.

Sieging a police station AND THROWING FULL CANS OF BEER?!?

    Lunacy!

It’s been mentioned before and it’ll be mentioned again but use a board for graff. Take one with you, you don’t have to do it on the walls/wherever, it only marks that place as a place that will be scoped. You’re only ruining the chances of partying at beautiful places again.
I understand the need to be creative, so think creative and take a plank of wood or whatever with you and get everyone to do graff on that. If anything it’ll be a nice memento to take home with you.

what – full can of beer?

    WHY IS IT FULL!

    :'(

and thas a good idea sini – can take it everywhere u go 😀

one London/SE England crew used to do this (usually with sheets stuck to walls as large pieces of wood take up space in vans better used for rigs) but people still tagged on the walls etc. The crew cannot be in 50 places at once and its only very recently that attendees to London parties were searched (mostly for weapons)

I’ve also seen a council worker send the cops away when he saw people tidying up at the end of a free party, he said “well you lot left it tidier than when we started” – they didn’t even get a chance to check the cars numberplates!

This is how we get to have our beach party by leaving the beach and fields at the top end of the beach cleaner than when we arrived.
‘You lot leave the beach cleaner than when you arrived’, The landowner is happy, we’re happy = no police.
But it can take a lot of work convincing/educating some people.

you’re in Scotland though.. I think that makes a difference, the impression I get from the Scots ravers is due to the remoteness of the area and a much stronger “community” spirit raves are more positive than in England….

Yeah, true we’re in Scotland but not always in ‘remote areas’. More so these days I admit because we did have a lot of trouble, including one idiot that stole a car to come to the party and wrote it off on the dual carrage way which brought the police straight to our site.
Generaly though the majority are well behaved and do share a sense of togetherness which helps with those few who insist on smashing empty bottles, smashing windows, ripping down trees instead of using deadwood off the ground, starting fights with any reasonable person that trys to talk to them and any of a hundred other things including grafitti.

Yeah guys! lets start a riot and destroy property! that will help the free party movement!
