Stoptober eh? Might try it…might not. Haven’t decided yet…..
Same here. I have months and months off smoking (even years) so it’s not really a health or concern to me. i might want a cheeky cig at some point and don’t see why i shouldn’t.
still though may just power through and stop for a month (pfff EASY)… i only may smoke for the small energy boost it provides and the fun ritual. (if i was to smoke it’d be literally not even 5 cigs throughout the month…)

I started smoking in 1988 (some of the brands I smoked are now banned under EU rules :laugh_at: – probably as Dad smoked (though I eventually realised that was another habit what finished him off) and I grew up in the era when you weren’t a man unless you smoked. Dad was also Hokkien Chinese and in Malaysia they say that “Chinese boys are born with a camera in one hand, and a cigarette in the other”.
I gradually cut down from 2005 until 2007/8 (by which time it was just social smoking) – then some time in 2009 (after seeing the price of cigarettes gradually rise to exorbitant levels) I suddenly decided – “sod this for a lark. no more gaspers for me” and haven’t smoked since. A few months ago I did consider buying a pack of whiffs (small cigars) – but I do not smoke inside the house and definitely not my studio/workshop – it doesn’t do the mixer faders any good, and is unsafe as well as unhealthy. So I would only have to sit in my garden amongst the bad weather, the pong of the sewage outflows by the Orwell (worse than the cigars) and the din of squalling kids, the electric trains and traffic. Also an old boy I know from another electronics forum was recently in Addenbrookes because of a throat cancer scare (thankfully he was OK in the end) which shook me up a bit. so I have not touched baccy for some time now.
I’m going for it. Wish me luck… withdrawal and cold turkey here we go…
… OH SHIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT… no pain, no gain.
Good luck.

I’m doing it as well
But I still have the occasional doobie and am using an E-cig
Whats your opinion on the e cig things? I’ve heard mixed views on them.

Personally I enjoy using them, they save money and are better for your lungs then tobacco smoke. I’m currently getting the supplies i need to BHO extraction and get some hash oil which i will be able to mix with E-cig liquid and get blitzed off a couple hits from the E-cig
a friend of mine has one and I tried it, tastes very sweet, but also doesn’t feel like your actually toking anything, strange feeling.
As for the hash oil idea……sir, that is genius. I shall invest in one when I have some pocket paper.
Im giving it a go too. Ran out of baccy yesterday but I’ve got myself one of those e cigs.
Nice one breh!!
I haven’t had a cigarette in 6 days, my longest stop in 4 years. I feel absolutely amazing I have so much energy now! I’ll probably have to have some at my next rave though when all my mates are smoking but am convinced to cut it back to a couple of nights a month now.
I’m 3 weeks non smoking I think nearly 4 I’m not sure – I never pay much attention to when I stop
Have stopped about 4 times in 20 yrs, I can stop easily just staying stopped is difficult… usually last a few years though unless someone dies – use fags when that happens to ‘get through’ it which is bull shit its just an excuse to smoke again and no one can tell ‘me off’ as I’m upset!!
Well, I lasted a few hours. Fancied a spliff so went out and bought some baccy. Still toking the e cig instead of fags though.
Never really understood the appeal of tobacco… i smoked non-stop for years (cos of weed) and when i didn’t have tobacco i never felt any need to have it… i think i just go through phases with substances.
