Looking to buy some powered monitors for producing costing around £250.
I have been suggested these by a couple of people
Alesis M1 Active MkII – Pair | Dolphin Music
does anyone have any better suggestions?
cheers.
KRK speakers consistently get good reviews, they’re supposed to be really good value for money. I don’t really have any experience with them myself though, I’ve heard some in the past but can’t remember what they sound like.
KRK Rokit RP5 G2 Active Studio Monitor | DV247 (price is per speaker)
I reckon the best bet is to go to a shop and audition a few different pairs with some music you know really well.
im happy with my alesis’s. nicks 8″ krks are too bassy and rumbly. and parish is happy with his 6″ krks but ive never heard em so cant comment.

yeah know what you mean about nicks! They are fucking banging though, to much for my price range though.
try a post on squat juice or searching for one there, they had alot more replies, think theres alot more producers on there
You could save yourself £40 by going here: Pair Alesis Monitor 1 Active MK2 Speakers Only £209.00 – 209.00
They’re ex display, but thought it might be helpful 😉
If you have a Best Buy outlet in your area, it’s a good idea to check with them too. Sometimes they run sales that will surprise you.
