Awhile back there was a thread here about subutex and suboxone. The risks and side effects. along with the differences between it and other forms of detox. i.e. methadone.

I couldnt find it to add on to it so i thought I’d do my own update.

I started subutex last summer for an addiction to pain pills and succcessfully stopped using. only to find out a few months later i was pregnant. and started up again.

most dr’s.hospitals/recopvery prgrams wont put a pregnant woman on subutex. I was lucky.
and I’d like to make an extrmemly long story shorty by saying that on June 11 2007 at 9:38pm after being on subutex sinve the middle of february I delivered a healthy baby girl that weighed 7lbs and was 21 inches.

the point of my story is simple. I had gone to a methadone clinic seeking other help when my dr stopped my treatment (but my ob re-prescribed the subutex) the clinic refused to put me on the subutex saying they dont detox pregnant women and only give them methadone. I took my baby home 2 days after she was born. with NO signs of addiciton or long term effects from the drug. methadone babies are in NICU for MONTHS. and have more problems then some other nicu babies with defects.

Methadone clinics suck and arent there to really help you. find a real dr with experience in subutex. stay away from the methadone.

trust in your instincts.

my baby is beautiful and had ZERO problems with this medication. If I had listened to these assholes at the clinic my baby would still be in the hospital fighting her own addiction.

before you take your 1st subbie, wait as long as you can from you last meth and when you start to have withdrawals,

I’ve not know people to have to stop for 2 – 3 days before – usually more than 24 hours is ok…

it may be best to take 2mg leave it an hour or so, take another 2mg see how you go and again if ok take the rest of what your prescribed if over 4mg per day-
then the next day take full prescribed dose in the a.m,

you should feel ok with in a day or too

as I’m sure your aware if you take it too early you can go into withdrawals, and may need ibruprofen, diahrea tablets and anti sickness tablets handy etc

i have no experiance with what coming off heroin is, but im very doubtful anyone from here will send drugs to china for no money, is there anyway you can go back on to the meth program, or you may just have to stick it out, and your not pathetic as you can admit to having a problem. Your only 27 and you have the rest of your life to look forward to

dunno of any good sites nope, they jail for addicTS does not sound like a good place to go, have u tried going to a buddhist church, tey do rehabs there (at some)

I came off heroin in the UK with no help. I went from using £80 a day to £20 a week in a very short time then just stopped. No meth no codine no nothing.

It can be done if you put your mind to it most of the adiction is pcycological though the phisical withdrawral is shit its easy overcome.
