Prime Minister Tony Blair plans to hire nearly 80 “supernannies” across England to help parents cope with problem children, in a bid to reduce hooliganism, underage drinking and antisocial behaviour.
Writing about the scheme in Tuesday’s Sun newspaper, Blair cited the popularity of television shows such as “Supernanny” to demonstrate that many parents would welcome outside help.
The government, which has set aside 4 million pounds for the project, would also publish a set of “top tips” for families, he said.
