  • ive never bin b4 but i heard it happens every year n is mena be phat anyone know what its like??

last years one was excellent; there was so much effort put into it; live sets, performance art…They brought in a stage and lighting rig that would put a lot of theatres and concerts to shame – its a pity that I can’t upload the video I’ve got of it here (otherwise the crews could be done for licensing violations)

    definitely worth checking out…

hearing it was cancelled, bwaaa, been wating for a proper headfuk party for a while now ever since the openair near tottenham at the beginning of the season.

Original location was busted, but the party still went ahead at a different location in London. OB showed up again and fucked off straight away. Wicked party, bonfire, Tony Blair, cool buildings, guy with horse’s head, sound people. Well worth going to.

was a wikid party well worth going! lots of buildings to explore n plenty of trippy shit 2 look at fucked lol

This was a really good party. I wasn’t expecting to go but after a friend offered to pay for me, I couldn’t refuse!

Does anyone have some photos they can post up, or a link to some photos?

this just an annual rave or legal event?? sounds good, whens it take place?

Its an annual rave which usually takes place in the London area around halloween.

It is still an unlicensed event, so usual security procedures (i.e no photos on public forums) apply :obey:

Yep I know its a shame (I’ve got 3 hours of excellent video footage from the 2005 one) but last thing the people involve need is being busted for licensing.

At this years one an unfortunate chap who picked a daft place to fall into a k-hole fell off a 30 ft wall on to a Thames bank. Luckily for him the tide was out so he escaped with a broken arm and hurt pride (could have been much worse!)

That rescue (which apparently also caused the party to end prematurely) involved all 3 London emergency services and although they did an excellent job at the frontline I’m sure their commanders would like to identify who put on the event, bring them before Court and claim for the costs of that rescue ….. so be careful what you all divulge in public….

Thought it might be of interest to anyone who went…

    Raver rescued from river
    By Faye Duxberry
A man plunged 30 feet from a wall and had to be rescued from rapidly rising water during an illegal rave in Brentford on Sunday.

As hundreds of revellers partied on in Gregory’s Demolition, Dock Road, Chiswick Lifeboat arrived at nearby Brentford Lock at 11.30am to find the semi-conscious man, who was hypothermic and finding it severely difficult to breathe, being held up above the water.

He had suffered extensive injuries to his face, head and shoulders after falling onto the mud.

His friend had climbed down to help him but could not do anything on his own and an hour passed before he could get anyone’s attention, by which time the tide had started to rise and he was panicking.

When the lifeboat arrived the injured man was placed onto the boat’s basket stretcher with a cervical collar and spinal board.

A Chiswick Lifeboat spokesman said: “Once on the lifeboat, volunteer crewman John Pooley, who is also a London Ambulance Service paramedic, took charge of first aid.

“A crowd of several hundred people had gathered to watch the crew at work and all cheered when the lifeboat set off with the casualty safely on board.”

The man was taken to Chiswick Pier, where he was transferred to an ambulance and taken to hospital. His friend was also treated for hypothermia.

The rave had started sometime before 1.20am on Sunday but did not end until 5pm, 15 hours after patrolling officers had discovered it.

A total of 28 calls were made to police from residents, the large majority of whom live in Augustus Close, which is among the canals behind Gregory’s Demolition.

By the time officers came across it there were already three to four hundred people at the scene and, at the party’s peak, up to 1,000 were there.

The rave was organised by mobile phone calls and texts and police received no prior warning that it was going to happen.

Tim De Meyer, Detective Chief Inspector at Hounslow CID, said: “We appreciate that this incident was a dreadful nuisance to the residents of Augustus Close, but once something like this has got going, it is safer to contain it than break it up by force.”

Mr De Meyer said this incident was a rarity as a number of impending raves have been stopped in the last year.

Brentford Safer Neighbourhood Team has been given the job of stopping an illegal rave happening again and will be co-operating with the owners of the premises used. The team can be contacted on *

I left mid-morning so I didn’t even know about this until a couple of days after

not good. This is the first time I’ve heard of a DCI getting bothered about raves which aren’t or weren’t classed as the biggest of crimes. Particularly in Londonistan where there are a lot of murders and stabbings to otherwise occupy his time…

was a sweet rave, shame my lappy was nicked the other week otherwise i could have made a bigger contribution to the visuals. i also passed out at around 5 like a lamer, which was a shame cos it was one of the best ive been to in a while. not quite as good as last years, but that is quite a benchmark. respect to the hardworking crew who made it happen in the face of the first site getting pigged.

it is a shame that the dci got involved, but it could be thats just for the press, and anyway, he seems pretty blase about it.

i knew some khead would fall in the river. it was inevitable. still, the site was beautiful, the reflections off the river were superb.

i dont spose you could burn us a dvd of last years event, gl? i’ll email you my addy or summat if you’re up frit. ill send you a vj mix or two for your veiwing pleasure in return.

I more suspect the DCI got involved as a formality because of the river incident and the level of Emergency Service resources required to deal with it –

although people fairly often fall (or are pushed into) rivers and canals at London raves they usually get out without requiring all 3 services to attend to them – or they present to a hospital Emergency Dept as “walking wounded” where the NHS don’t always record the connection with the rave (the patient is under no obligation to tell them, and the NHS are under no obligation to tell the cops).

Normally its a uniform sargeant or a DS in extreme circumstances who speaks to press about raves – or even a local bobby! All can speak to the media if authorised..

I haven’t forgotten about this – its just been so busy with work I’ve not had time to get the correct equipment together (a lot of my kit is still in Reading as well). I may get a DVD-recorder soon which would make things a lot easier..

always a pleasure probably my favorite london shindig roll on next time a lorra effort went into the whole thing baloooooooooooooooooooooons:lol_dork: :lol_fast: :satisfied :satisfied :lol_big:

incidentally to put the river incident into perspective..

There were about 5 people carted out of the recent Tidy Weekender by Ambulance after overdoing drugs. A further number of revellers (about 5 or 6 more) presented to the nearest Emergency Dept suffering from various (thankfully minor) effects of drug over-use…

All this occurred at a licensed event with full compliance with licensing regulations, presence of paramedics etc…

So even with the incident synthetic circus was far safer IMO – but of course unlike Tidy no one pays towards the potential costs (a lot of licensed even ticket price goes straight to the cops and council!) which makes the authorities angry

But its a matter of our self-control as well – if we can’t look after ourselves, the nanny state will do it for us… (and make us pay for it!)

tax is the ruin of this country tax me all week but not on a saturday the cheeky cunts:yakk:
