they won’t ask you about them, they will quietly note them down and add them to the record. if the frontline officer doesn’t know what it means he or she will ask their CID or equivalent detective counterparts in foreign forces.
one reason I don’t get tattoos (apart from a dislike of needles) is ironically because of the British Police Service newly found political correctness. Cops today are taught cultural awareness but it also means that an Oriental person with any sort of tattoo is scrutinised for possible gang activity (triads etc) as this is sometimes the case in SE and Eastern Asia.
dreadlocks are increasingly common item these days, and no longer attract major suspicion, particularly as the penalties for small posession of cannabis aren’t large anyway.
