I’ve seen pics of it before but am not sure if it was in FR or some other countries (it may well have been deployed at more than one teknival in Europe). Its not as dangerous as it might seem as such effects are regularly used in the film and TV industries and there are plenty of folk about who can do them safely across the EU. One big cultural difference in UK and mainland Europe is that over the water there is much more tolerance and encouragement of young peoples outdoor group activities, especially things like camping, riding bicycles in groups (the two often combined) in some cases even funded or subsidised by the local Councils to a far greater extent than the UK so mainland Europe Teknivals are actually “less rebellious” than in the UK.
I suspect also the incident count is no worse than a Saturday in Paris or any suburban areas of France, where far worse crimes must happen (curiously many French newspapers seem to lack a crime news section, unlike an English or Dutch one, yet the incidents at teknival are considered more newsworthy?)
