So I’m not exactly “smart” when it comes to law or anything like that but I would like to understand why and how the police can go into every legal high shop in my city (and country) and take everything? I know it’s because it’s “suscisious” (Yeah, right) but I don’t understand how they can get away with ripping apart legit, legal businesses like that. It makes me really mad because it’s a perfect example of the police and the courts being above the law by not returning what is deemed legal when they are supposed to. Sorry if I come across as dumb, I just take herbal incense and it helps me a lot with my severe depression and I don’t see how weed can be used for anxiety because it calms you down but if legal highs help me get through the tough times I’m having then I’m an addict or a “junkie”.
Thanks in advance to anyone who responds 🙂
Hello my friend. Your question isn’t exactly clear to me so I’ll throw around some general points about what’s going on. The “head shops” you use generally atract lots of dickheads who hang around outside pissing off the residents and causing so much trouble the police move in using any power at all they have to shut the place down. One shop somewhere even had an ASBO served on it to get it shut down.
Another thing, shit sold in head shops is generally cut to shit brnaded products which contain research chemicals. These impure products which do their very best to give the user no clue of the contents and produce batches which vary massively in ratios and contents making them actually dangerous. Especially the stimulant based products, some fucking clowns have started injecting, fucking their veins and themselves up leading to them being banned.
The government is on a stupidly misguided crusade tor ruin everyones lives by throwing them in prison and making every compound on earth illegal until they say it’s legal.
All of that combined is why your fun has been ruined my friend.
The Police are not using “anti drugs laws” against these shops.
They are using public protection/safety laws some of which date back from the Middle Ages as well as more modern ones for product safety.
if the same shops were selling a “mixed strong alcoholic drink” to 15 year olds and street drinkers that was bulked out with 20% glycol, mazoet/paraffin and methanol (which would sooner or later make the drinkers very ill; and/or hoodies and other “street clothes” that went up on fire if any stray ash or blims from a cigarette or spliff contacted them, as well as dodgy mains chargers for small gadgets that also lit up houses or gave the users shocks from 230V mains, eventually the Ambulance Service, NHS and Fire Brigade would complain to the Council about the extra call outs on top of all the other things that keep them busy 24/7 and obvious harm being caused to people.
Trading Standards will then get a warrant to enter the place along with the Police and seize the offending items.
This is exactly what is happening with over the counter NPS sales in some parts of the UK.
Excellently put my man, if people could fuck off home with their compounds and enjoy themselves without causing issues for other people who want to go about their business peacefully, as is their right, then instead ofjust the idiots being blames for the problems, people blame the compiunds and the places selling them and so threy use all sorts of laws to get rid of what they believe the problem to be. Very sad.
Exactly! It’s not like anyone is forcing it into anyone body but people just like to blame other people. It’s sad that a few idiots that take it and do stupid things has ruined it for everyone when that isn’t everyone. Just like with alcohol some people can hack it and some can’t
the UK to be fair is not that restrictive about what items you can purchase legally [not just NPS] compared to 20-30 years ago and the current situation in other European countries.
Many NPS are already illegal/controlled in nations which are often thought of as more tolerant such as DE, DK and NL and selling them over the counter or online is stopped a lot more quickly including censoring / seizing Internet servers and/or using special units of cops who all have guns.
Of course none of these countries are “drug-free” but they also have various more subtle methods of social engineering and/or confining a lot of drug / alcohol use to certain areas and age groups or encouraging folk to be more moderate with it. In recent times Scotland does appear to be aligning itself more closely with practices in these countries than England is.
What he said ^^^^^^^.
