speed is a less pure and more cut form of base, both are various forms of amfetamine sulfate.

I used to get it from some squatter friends. Contrary to all stereotypes of squatters (and even though they used needles) you could eat your tea off the floor of their squat, it was that clean. Even though there was usually at least one dog there and random cats (local pets, often from posh houses nearby) which would turn up to blag food as the girl what tended to “run” these squats was always looking after “stray” animals (and people) – for instance when someone got nicked she would always look after their dog, and even the cops seemed to respect her for doing that. She even got a dog from a rescue home in spite of being homeless – it was going to be put down anyway as no one else could train it but she managed it – so the chap at the rescue centre somehow managed to get it chipped, checked out by the vet, but show it on the rescue centre records as “run loose and escaped”.
The timing was done in such a way it looked like the girl had found the dog in the street, and chipped it herself 😉 so everyone ended up happy. AFAIK she still has the dog, which is perfectly well behaved (went from being marked as “fierce/dangerous” dog to letting cats blatantly rob food from its bowl under its nose..)
