this (and all the other videos associated with it) is a big reasons I’ve stopped going out.
Not because I don’t like drinking (quite the opposite) – but I can see how its totally changed nightlife. One section of folk is always trying 100% to look their best because every bit of their night is photographed and filmed and put on facebook etc – but all that happens is the girls look like they are trying to audition for TOWIE and the dudes all dress like my fashion concious friend of mine (who was openly gay) did in about 1987 :laugh_at: (does this happen in every town or just East Anglia?)
the rest don’t give a shit about what they look like or what they are doing and who is watching, at least until they wake up 5 miles out of town in Martlesham PIC (and then are stuck with getting back home at their own expense – this is one of the high tech police areas like TVP became in Reading where arrested folk are often taken to a Police Station out in the sticks rather than town….
but people don’t seem to realise that acting like this and then putting it online gets everyone judged, especially by those who still have the power to decide whether they get jobs, education, better chances in life. – both the cool kids and pissheads are seen as spending too much time on fun and viewed as potential bad employees. its different putting up stuff like your funny pet video or nature film or your music mix or other stuff most people think is harmless.
This sort of stuff should only be shared between real groups of friends and in private. I’ve got terabytes of photos/videos of people in rare states from back in the day but only a fraction of it, carefully edited and security checked to the last frame will ever go on youtube, flickr or similar. To me a camera can be a powerful as a gun and should be used carefully and responsibly.
