Imagine how weird shops will look without cigs behind the counter, i’ve grown quite fond of them being there and i hate fags LOL (just for the record i have nothing against homosexuals just cigs (fags) :laugh_at:)

This ruling is absolutely bonkers. I work in the retail industry and this will most likely push me out of a job as changing the layouts of shops will be well expensive, this fucking country is so stupid, the health Nazis really are in control.

I don’t even smoke anymore but it’s pissed me off, people (kids an all) will still smoke no matter what the government does. they start smoking through their friends, watching their parents smoke and trying to emulate their idols (who smoke), they’ll smoke no matter what. If anything the government is making it even more taboo thus making it more appealing, yeah nice one you gimps.

The government has no clue whatsoever and this is why they suck great big monkey balls as do Labour who are even worse cos this was their idea. god I hate Labour with a passion, they really are a bunch of mugs and who would vote for them with gonzo as their leader???? :crazy_diz

not touched a gasper since last year, but this is precisely why I have always say to progressive minded people never to use the argument “why don’t prohibitionists target tobacco and alcohol as much as illegal drugs?”

Prohibitionists are stubborn and they do, despite the more entrenched tolerance of these substances. There has also been massive clampdowns on alcohol use since the last 20 years (even during Majors era).

If the tax from them was ring fenced for NHS instead of spent on wars and other stuff, it would offset most of the negative costs of these legal substances use.

I think its a good idea and whilst I have not looked at the evidence behind it I assume there is some. People never think advertising effects them but the budgets for such things says differently.

I quite like tobacco advertising, it’s pretty :laugh_at: i hate smoking as well.

good idea imo. dont underestimate the effect that advertising can have on you. obviously people wont just stop smoking because of this, but it can hardly be a bad thing can it?

Next year I am going to grow my own tobacco….this smells like we going to end up with a ban so I promote smokers culture, i am aware of the dodgy history of tobacco, but this is first step to facism and refuse to be a part of it, what they(WHO, health-ministries etc) are saying by this is; our culture is right and yours is now going to die and they are lying to us, instead of giving better tobacco products, they have cut the nicotine and sez it is bad for us but all the real bad stuff in cigattes is still there and the result is we smoke more due to tolerance and we get more sick of it due to more of the bad stuffs…it looks like a conspirasy between the Tproducers and the taxman, I know it is not so but…..

I’ve found out that only supermarkets will be hit by this ruling, this won’t affect smaller shops till 2015. hopefully the tough times will be over by then and I’ll be in a new job, (or living in France!!) either way it’s that far away that I am no longer bothered by this.

I still hate labour though. raaa
