TG – well it doesn’t matter in the end what OUR OPINIONS are..it’s what is the TRUTH. We will find out one way or the other in the end.
I never said doing drugs wasn”t MY bad choice…..but I repented and am forgiven. And I haven’t touched the stuff since 98.
these are emotive issues your ‘debating’
you cant expect to spout your religious views that (I should hope) you are aware of; that many of us disagree with you on this forum with out an emotive response?
Well thats ok then. Can’t argue with custom……..
Oh hold on yes I can. Especially when millions of people arond the world base their entire lives on the same book!
Sounds like a plan. You live life your way, and I’ll live my life the way I choose, then we’ll meet up after we’re dead and see who was right.
Oh- actually that’s not the way you’re going to do it. You actually going to tell everyone how you think (or have been brainwashed to think) they should live, and then tell them they’re going to hell if the don’t agree.
I prefer my plan- much less hassle.
TG, yes you can be emotive but when it turns to name-calling….that’s gone too far IMO. Yes I am very aware of the touchy nature of these subjects.
As far as the Bible goes, customs in those days were completely different than today – obv. slavery and other practices which were common back then are now abolished.
lol you’re not going to make me become an atheist anymore than I’m gonna make you turn into a Christian Conservative!!!!!

Yeah, so who wrote the bible?

EXACTLY my point. There were ceratain things that were acceptable in the past in order to maintain a semblence of society. Slavery was needed for the economy, murder of another countries people was needed to get land. Religion was needed to give people hope and teach them hoe to live good lives.
I’m sure you’ll agree that all these examples of backwards attitudes don’t belong in a modern society?

I didnt say you did,
I’m just trying to get it straight in my head,
if I have an abortion, maybe covert my neighbours ox, steal and then murder someone, but then repent………………….
all is forgiven and I get into heaven?
cool
:wink::you_crazy
p.s I didnt call you a name I said get to fuck, a very common expression here telling you to …errr how to say in american speak – get with the program but with a bit more emotion behind it 😉
so what exactly is the point of this “debate?” we have all had free choice to make our decisions, and we know where to find prayers, bibles, faith groups and the like.
there is very little if any common ground here.
if you “didn’t wish to spark off a big debate” what did you expect the people here to do? to simply roll over and accept your views like US and UK troops expect middle easterners to hand over control of their resources such as oil and then think “oh shit, they are daring to fight back?”
TG, I didn’t mean YOU called me names…..that was someone else. What you said basically would translate as ‘get bent’! :laugh_at:
Yes, IF you TRULY were sorry and REALLY repented and turned from your sin – yes God will forgive your sins and ‘remember them no more’. This is NOT a blank check to sin! And you MUST accept Jesus Christ as your Lord! That is the condition…..
MAN wrote the WORDS, but they were God-breathed. And the CUSTOMS were backward, not religion!
GL, I don’t know…..I was in prayer and I was led to this site…..don’t know WHAT I expected, I was just obeying what God would have me do!
TBH that was probably me. Although I only said that if you thought CNN was left wing, then your ideas of right wing must be pretty extreme…….
God, or Google? this site has a high ranking on Google and thus crops up in all sorts of places on google searches…
