I dont think that will strengthen your argument old chap

Don’t associate with non-Christians. Don’t receive them into your house or even exchange greeting with them. 2 John 1:10
Everyone will have to worship Jesus — whether they want to or not. Philippians 2:10
A Christian can not be accused of any wrongdoing. Romans 8:33
    PICK AND CHOOSE!!!!!

    It is subjective.

I must agree I do not believe she fully understands her own belief system, but then unless the atheists on here are scientists I dout they are not guilty of the same thing..

I agree with your point about picking and choosing – but calling her an idiot is a bit unnecessary and unhelpful surely.

You will simply make her angry and upset and she will dismiss EVERYTHING you have to say – just as her hate of freedom of choice and homosexuality makes it hard for mt to not dismiss all she has to say

um, that was the CUSTOM in THOSE days! I am talking about the NT….

So just to be clear on this.

The bible, which is said to have come from god, can be changed depending on the social views of the time?

So even god conforms to peer pressure, eh?

And for the record, I’m bisexual, if anyone ever comes up to me and starts spouting religious bullshit about how “God hates fags”, they better be prepared for a cracked skull and a 3 day weekend to the hospital.
Intolerance of how people lead their lives of which has no effect on others, is something I do not and will not tolerate one bit.

exactly – surely the word of god should be above the customs of humans – or else what makes it so special?

I can’t remember which topic it’s on, but Amy, you posted something about god telling you to go on this forum, right?

    I can just imagine that.

The G Man: “Amy.. this is God!” *dun dun duuuuuun*
Amy: “Wow, really? What would you have of me, o Lord?”
The G Man: “Amy.. make haste unto the World Wide Web and frequent a website called partyvibe.com, the people on this website are committing terrible sins. I have decided it is your role to go onto this forum, and annoy them with passages of the bible while consistently stating that you are not a bible basher”
Amy: “But, surely, this is a wasted effort and these heathens will never see the light.. I would of thought that I’d be put onto a more important mission like being a missionary and forcing religion onto people in war torn lands in exchange for food, clean water and shelter.. do I really have to go on this heretical website?”
The G Man: “…if you love me, you’d do it”
Amy: “Can I feed my cats first?”
    The G Man: “..no”

    That’s religion, I’m afraid!

God loves you, but he hates you for being different.
Christians love everyone, Christians hate everyone.
The bible says it’s cool to have slaves, and generally pillage, rape and decimate other religions.. the bible tells you to “love thy neighbour”. (And, Amy, if you even say “IT WAS THE CUSTOM!!11!” there’ll be a psychic backhand from everyone who reads it)

Later on in many, many years, when the New New Testament is released (and avaliable on the Penguin website), and religions have finally accepted homosexuality, people will question the barbarity of the religious groups of this day, the only answer they’ll get is “Well.. it was the custom.”
