I have a question Amy, i hope this doesn’t offend.
How do christians explain dinosaurs? I’m generally interested btw, not taking the piss =]

What a great pastor you have marcusblanc 😉

oh I’m not giving up! I really believe I am supposed to be on here! And I was just using books because those people are more learned than me…I know what I believe, just can’t always put it into words so correctly!

Dinosaurs……they’re in there somewhere! In Isaiah ther’s mention of Leviathan, being a sea monster who could also fly, like a dragon…..I believe that was a type of dinosaur.

i seriously suggest you read the book ‘The God Delusion’ (Richard Dawkins)
it may be difficult for you to read, but truth matters.

Do you take the bible literally?

A man or a woman who acts as a medium or fortuneteller shall be put to death by stoning; they have no one but themselves to blame for their death. (Leviticus 20:27 NAB)

If a man commits adultery with another man’s wife, both the man and the woman must be put to death. (Leviticus 20:10 NLT)

When a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod so hard that the slave dies under his hand, he shall be punished. If, however, the slave survives for a day or two, he is not to be punished, since the slave is his own property. (Exodus 21:20-21 NAB)

If a man is caught in the act of raping a young woman who is not engaged, he must pay fifty pieces of silver to her father. Then he must marry the young woman because he violated her, and he will never be allowed to divorce her. (Deuteronomy 22:28-29 NLT)

You would think that Jesus and the New Testament would have a different view of slavery, but slavery is still approved of in the New Testament, as the following passages show.

Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ. (Ephesians 6:5 NLT)

Top Ten Signs You’re a Fundamentalist Christian

10 – You vigorously deny the existence of thousands of gods claimed by other religions, but feel outraged when someone denies the existence of yours.

9 – You feel insulted and “dehumanized” when scientists say that people evolved from other life forms, but you have no problem with the Biblical claim that we were created from dirt.

8 – You laugh at polytheists, but you have no problem believing in a Triune God.

7 – Your face turns purple when you hear of the “atrocities” attributed to Allah, but you don’t even flinch when hearing about how God/Jehovah slaughtered all the babies of Egypt in “Exodus” and ordered the elimination of entire ethnic groups in “Joshua” including women, children, and trees!

6 – You laugh at Hindu beliefs that deify humans, and Greek claims about gods sleeping with women, but you have no problem believing that the Holy Spirit impregnated Mary, who then gave birth to a man-god who got killed, came back to life and then ascended into the sky.

5 – You are willing to spend your life looking for little loopholes in the scientifically established age of Earth (few billion years), but you find nothing wrong with believing dates recorded by Bronze Age tribesmen sitting in their tents and guessing that Earth is a few generations old.

4 – You believe that the entire population of this planet with the exception of those who share your beliefs — though excluding those in all rival sects – will spend Eternity in an infinite Hell of Suffering. And yet consider your religion the most “tolerant” and “loving.”

3 – While modern science, history, geology, biology, and physics have failed to convince you otherwise, some idiot rolling around on the floor speaking in “tongues” may be all the evidence you need to “prove” Christianity.

2 – You define 0.01% as a “high success rate” when it comes to answered prayers. You consider that to be evidence that prayer works. And you think that the remaining 99.99% FAILURE was simply the will of God.

1 – You actually know a lot less than many atheists and agnostics do about the Bible, Christianity, and church history – but still call yourself a Christian.

Religion has actually convinced people that there’s an invisible man living in the sky who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever ’til the end of time!

Also watch the 2 George Carlin videos ‘Religion Is Bullshit’ and ‘The Ten Commandments’

Good grief! I would be up all night refuting all that!!!!

George Carlin is in hell right now btw.

The Law set forth in the OT as far as killing people for things like adultery…it is to show us what we DESERVE….Jesus did away with all that when He died on the cross. If you reject what He did for you, then by default you are going to have to face the consequences of your sin, which is DEATH – eternally without hope.

Of course it said slavery in the NT – it was practiced in that time!!!! That does NOT mean that Christianity condones slavery!!!

As far as that huge long list….I will get into that tomorrow.

And YES I AM A FUNDAMENTALIST CHRISTIAN!!!! That is NOT the same as a Fundamentalist Islam….when was the last time you saw a Christian preacher with bombs strapped to his body????

I posted some pics in my album btw.

and before anyone says ‘oh see, she can’t do it, she admits she’s wrong’…..I printed up that very long list of supposed contradictions and am researching right now. I am already seeing how some of these are just flimsy excuses; if you take the Scriptures IN CONTEXT you will see what they are ACTUALLY saying.

This will take some time, am on number 5 now and getting sleepy…..

My fucking God. As much as I disagreed with you, I was always very much acceptant of your beliefs and indeed appreciated you posted them, if only because we could spark some debate.

But that statement is so fucking stupid, ignorant, pathetic and extremely hypocritical…. I don’t even know where to start.

Let us know if you want us to tear you to pieces on that one, I’ll be on the front line. And, for the record, I despise all religions equally.

And obviously that is completely OK whereas other religions are wrong and violent, yeah?

If it was a calling from God that sent you on this conversion mission he’s pretty rubbish.

    I’ve never felt so athiest!
