benzo fury is a daft name because its not a benzo, that substance (which TBH seems to be less prominent nowadays) is an amfetamine type stimulant. its way expensive for what you get and is most similar to a chemical found in early 90s pills what had unpleasant comedowns and even a few fatal OD’s, to confuse things further etizolam isn’t strictly a benzo either, though it has much of the same effects.
I am no chemistry expert (flunked my A level big time years ago) but did learn that a benzene ring is useful as it is a building block for lots of other things.
one simple way to understand why RC’s work is to compare them with a yurt or ger. people in far away foreign lands live in them, as do hippies in Europe and Western nations. In remote bits of Asia a yurt is made out of yak skins, felt made from hair gleaned for a variety of species (including humans) and other stuff like bamboo and works well as it gets to -20 in these countries, it is also made to be shifted easily on camels/yaks. Borat may not have been very PC, but this bit is accurate..

And they use yurts/gers there, one is on the flag. But here in Blighty, camels and yaks aren’t that easy to obtain. Most are in Zoos – trying to borrow them gets the feds called on you by the zookeeper, and you need a license and ID tags on the animal to move them around anyway. Also there are local and national laws resticting putting up a permanent or semi permanent building even on your own land, particularly if/when the neighbours complain.
some friends in Diss (about 30 miles north of where I am just across the Norfolk border) who indeed are hippies made a version of a yurt/ger which used standard size wooden panels used in construction, some were doors in and out to the place, others were on hinges and bolt. Unfortunately when I visited it it was at some random time in the night in bad weather and I was pissed and out of my head on other stuff as well, so didn’t get any photos (would only have stacked it in the dark field doing so)
it wasn’t as draught proof as the foreign ones, but also could be easily dismantled and folded into what merely looked like a load of doors and bits of wood and fitted easily into a 3.5t panel van
A normal packed large tent is recognisable especially to folk who have served in HM Forces (cops use them too) – even parts for a normal Oriental yurt/ger would be an odd item to keep in a British vehicle outside of festival season and a group of hippies stopped with such items would often be asked where they intended to pitch it and whether they had permission to do so.
However this Norfolk design just looks like building materials for a settled house and there are absolutely fuckloads of small family run construction businesses here – as long as the van contents aren’t stolen and the vehicle safe and driven well the feds / VOSA don’t give a shit. This is how RC’s work – by changing the core of the design to something not watched for or restricted but making the end effect the same. In chemical terms often a thiopene or furan substitutes for the benzene ring found in the illegal drugs, and such compounds aren’t yet illegal to make. Although furan itself is nasty stuff (almost as bad as benzene) thiopene is safer and restricting it would cause unwanted grief and expense the world over.
both and far worse chemicals regularly go back and forth across the North Sea in containers aboard those cargo ships I was monitoring – the priority with such a ship is keeping her safe and the cargo out of the briny.
UKBA, Nederlandse Belastingdienst en Douane and other authorities will check the paperwork, but if its a well trusted company short of scenarios like suspected IED on board (would make a good action movie) the feds tend to give such cargo a wide berth for fear of their own safety. they do have clever x-ray and other kit to look inside containers without opening up the lot, but not so easy to spot a smallish pack of chemicals in a ship loaded up to the gunwales with them especially if its one container of “fine chemicals” and the rest are bulk of other mainstream industrial chems.
I know of one chap who got a isotainer loaded with mephedrone in at Felixstowe (just before the ban so it wasn’t immediately proveable as a criminal offence), the entire isotainer was taken to a location of his choice and left there. For obvious reasons I didn’t ask too many questions, but round here its not uncommon to see them in random places, as they are relatively cheap and have many other uses static on dry land. its contents were distributed around the time of the ban but got consumed long before the feds actually started nicking folk, which does give an idea of how moreish mephedrone was
The smallest isotainer would (after dealing with the acoustics) be big enough to make a perfect den for mixing/media production – could fit a decent sized studio into it and even in NL where folk are tall no one would need to mind their head due to low ceilings.
