On the 29th April there will be another Royal Wedding.
Who is paying for it? You are.
But at the same time, the Coalition Government says there is no money left – that is why they are making huge public sector cuts to welfare, education, transport and the NHS!
They have tripled university fees and slashed university funding by as much as 80%. This has led to hundreds of staff redundancies and the closure of many university departments. Although the Government argues that these cuts are unavoidable it is clear that they are wrong:

It is clear that they are making these cuts for an altogether different reason. Poorly hidden beneath their cheap rhetoric, the Government is intent on serving the interests of the elite: the greedy banks, the large exploiting corporations and the self-interested rich. For instance, tax avoiders such as Vodafone and Arcadia Group are free to hoard their £25BILLION in unpaid tax each year.
At this wedding there will be 1900 guests. These include the dictator King of Bahrain, and the King of Saudi Arabia, and dozens of other crowned heads of states and ridiculous celebrities. Autocrats and millionaires will be celebrating together. The poor, as per usual, will be scraping around outside trying to make a living.
They expect us to celebrate with them.
But we won’t. Instead we invite you to come and join us on the day and claim back our spaces they have stolen.
We’ll be on the streets – on the proposed route – at the same time – to send them a clear message:
Whose Streets? Our Streets!
