Such dancing is in fact not uncommon in the Islamic world, though discouraged by conservatives. That said a very devout Muslim chap I used to work with had a secret liking for both Dutch hardcore gabba, and reggae 😉
In Kazhakstan popular entertainment includes a dance called “orteke” – this involves mimicking the movements of a he-goat which has fallen into a pit.
