Barbapappa
they still show these occasionally on cbeebies :groucho: :groucho: :groucho:
nearly all the kids shows which have had archives kept are still in TX on the cable and satellite channels…the remains of the British TV industry is resting on its tattered laurels (same as the British motor car industry)…
quite enjoyed the ol geordie racer. blue flash was it? and the thru the dragons eye
yep – and “Words and Pictures” had a similar format (it shared the same production team and is still in production today!) It was intended for the younger kids and had more cartoon stuff in, including a cartoon assistant called Charlie.
I always thought Charlie was a bit scarey; and then in 1985 the BBC made the drama documentary film Threads where Sheffiled was blown to bits by the atomic bomb.
There is a scene in Threads a few years after the bomb where they have just got the leccy back on; someone has salvaged a working TV set and video – you see shell-shocked and irradiated survivors watching a video of “Words and Pictures” as a way of trying to get people to learn how to read again…
Round The Twist is still on, I saw that quite recently.. i just don’t remember where >_<
Noddy was wicked 🙂 ’til they changed it from how it looked in the *old* days (i.e. the mid-90’s)
Yeah the first few series of that was wicked. A mate of mine designed some of the rooms (you could send in your designs and if they were good enough they would be added to the show)
cool! i think the fact hardley anyone ever made their way to the end made it that bit more intriguing. but i never will get the sound of that hoblin horn out of head, swear i was mentally scared by that.
:weee:
oh and rab c nesbit
The studios Knightmare was made in are still in use for some other productions (although ITV Anglia don’t use them any more since Trisha went); and Norwich city council got a grant to buy the building off Granada, its supposed now to be used for a “creative hub in East Anglia”
/me wonders if you could get a TENS for the place? 😉
