This video shows repeated tasering by the police of a student without his ID in the library. He’s tasered even when handcuffed and screaming in pain with nearby students telling the police to stop…
In Britain they would have done things differently.
They would have let the guy get his books or whatever, but passed the CCTV footage to the single, unarmed “campus cop” – then months later, he would then have got his hall door stoved in, his computers and books confiscated, been nicked in a similar manner to the Yank student (but with no witnesses) – and timed just before his exams so the stresss would make him more likely to fail his course..

sad but most likely true!
I am actually unsure as to what disturbed me most – the brutality from the uniformed men or the inaction of the students looking on. :hopeless::hopeless::hopeless:
US uni campuses are quite brutal places…. there are probably students who have their own guns and tasers in their dorm rooms and use them to settle disputes..
fights and violence are common on campus…
why else do campuses need armed cops on them and their own local police forces in the first place?
there is some kind of freedom of information type law where you can look at a US university police forces database and read details of the crimes that have occured. There’s plenty going on on some campuses…
