As if they’d get away with anything near Southwold!
The first happened on Saturday night when police received information saying a rave was due to take place between Southwold and Kessingland.
Officers attended an area near the beach in Corton just after 11pm where Officers found around 100 people waiting for a rave to begin and at 11:45pm issued a direction to leave notice.
Police say those attending were “compliant” and the area was cleared of people by 1am. No arrests were made but two generators were seized.Police were then called about a separate rave near Bury St Edmunds at 6:12am.
Members of the public complained about loud music coming from a field in Culford. Police went to the scene of the noise and found a rave in full swing.
Those attending the rave were compliant with police and the site was clear and cleaned by just after 11am.

used to hate raves that get shut down at 11am, just increases the risk of drug driving/overly tired driving. Sound like they at least had a night of it though.
if the Culford lot actually kept their sound equipment (the reports are unclear about this) even better… for the Culford party it appears possible though they had a certain amount of tolerance from the locals (such as cops only getting a 999 call in the early morning) rather than when it started…
Although I don’t like the clampdowns, having lived in EA for 4 years now I find it a decent enough place to live in with fairly tolerant people of all ages/backgrounds and ravers can’t just expect cops to totally ignore raves….
given the time of year (and another post I made about the amount of teenage drug use), I wonder if the second “rave” was more likely some teenagers celebrating after the release of exam results, which the locals decided was too noisy and called 999 about?
Corton is by no means between kessingland and southwold by the way. Not at all surprised someone attempted something in that spot though as people have been gathering down there for the last few months and it’s slowly been getting more and more “busy”. Wish they wouldn’t trash the place though as it’s a nice area and I walk the dog there twice a day. It’s right next to a load of rather large houses too – silly place to attempt something.
