from Evening Star website…
but when you click on the link
Suffolk police today stepped in to close down a rave that had been going on all night in a Suffolk village.
The illegal party started on Saturday at Newton, near Sudbury, and officers moved in early today to bring it to a close.
These places are 30 miles apart …. not only is this inaccurate it increases the locals fear as they think more events are happening than is actually the case…
i went to this
we live only 2 miles away! :horay:
didnt know about it until my GF’s mum phoned us at the house saying that there is a rave in the next village! got straight outta bed and to the rave in 5 mins!
good thing about it was the fact that it was on some dick head millionaire called ‘colin davies’ land, and was opposite the mansion he lives in!
the party got sect. 63’d at about midday and we all left by half 1.
it was in coney weston btw not sudbury…
gutted i didnt hear about this on the night though! :annoyed:
what was the last tune btw ??? (q for anyone who went) cheers

good stuff…
same thing happened to me when I lived in Reading, found out a rave was in nearby South Oxfordshire and just rode there on my pushbike..
although I normally don’t like seeing residents annoyed I do think these landowners are way too selfish. Many of them don’t even do anything useful with the land like farming etc, often they just live in big houses to hide away from the people they stitched up or stomped on to get their money…
yeah there is noise but it can’t be worse than the night freight trains carrying nuclear waste and heavy ballast etc that runs through the outskirts of Ipswich at odd hours; I just shut my windows and can’t hear them; surely he can afford double glazing?
And if any of us had that sort of money we’d just have the field licensed so it would be legal and cops couldn’t do anything :horay:
Just the thing i needed to find out, GL how much would it cost to get a field liscenced for the weekend then?
however much the fields owner wants for its use
plus about 21 quid for a TENS which allows you to have 500 people there…
try here for another discussion about this with more detail

Ah right cheers m8, the farmer is letting us have the field for a 100 quid over the weekend and this seems like it would be a cheap and inexpensive way of making it legal. Cheers GL
Good luck! please let us know how you get on on the other thread…
get to it;
there is minimum period before the event by which the application has to be submitted
? insurance? public liabilty that is
? insurance? public liabilty that is
good point.. although like any insurance thats a civil matter.. its just financial protection against the potential loss of being sued by a victim of accident or injury at the event….
whilst the license is a requirement Crown Authorities to satisfy the criminal law and that the event has been set up in an acceptable manner..
its possible the farmer already has this in his farms insurance policy as its not uncommon for people to go to a farm to buy produce etc or attend craft workshops..
theres obviously a bit of a moral push to have this for a legal event, OTOH how many free parties happen without this whatsoever, and how many clubs have it TBH (just because the policy is up on the wall doesn’t always mean it is valid, and who actually bothers to look for this sort of thing before attending?) any idea how much costs would be for this? (could increase the costs somewhat…)
