  • Aunties reporters did approach several ravers during the summer, but no one understandably was willing to to talk to them, when everyone knows the feds can get info from the media really easy nowadays?

Ok the halls may be overloaded but all this is pretty much a direct result of clampdowns on legal parties in East Anglia in the 1990s, which push all the ravers from 3 counties into a single one…

in July they called out riot cops from 3 regional forces (equivalent to 3 départements of cops) to close down a rave just because the forestry manager and a minority of locals complained..

    ridiculous..:you_crazy

quite a good idea…reckon itd work up north

well. i supposde we’ve got places like the everyone center and the west indian center

we should particularly note the policeman saying how they have someone specificaly assigned to monitoring websites where hints are given

i mean, we always knew they were doing it to an extent, but to have coppers asigned soley to this issue… well, gotta be extra careful innit.

There is a reason why theres several stickied “watch what you type” threads and has been for ages. This is hardly a new idea.

yeah, hence i said “we already knew”

    an extra reminder doesn’t hurt

Got to feel sorry for the poor bastards who have to monitor SJ!!!

FFS though. Can’t dance outside, can’t dance legally inside. Close down all the decent clubs and pubs. I hate this fucking country. All that’ll be left in 10 years time is a nation of 50+ moaning old sods and 5 generations of inebriated chavs.

what has changed is the nature of the surveillance

in 2002 it was the odd bobby looking from a police connection in their spare time or on Saturday afternoon (it was simple enough to identify them as there are certain ISPs which only take big public sector contracts rather than home users)

now they are using civillian consultants who have enough tech knowledge to look like “any other user” and also trying to work out profiles about “what sort of person puts on raves or attends them”. I wouldn’t be surprised if a few ex-ravers who work in IT are taking on jobs like this!

the money for this, particularly in East Anglia is coming from the anti-terrorism budget as there isn’t a big problem with radicalised British Asians round here despite an ethnically diverse community..

there is a lesson to be learned from what elretardo has in his signature..

‘cos ravers are terrorists right :you_crazy
