  • This is actually a serious news item TBH, but this is pretty random I could understand a random ferret turning up in the house in fakenham or swaffham or other more rural areas but this is the middle of the city :laugh_at:

I hope it gets back to its owner , as someone is obviously missing their pet..

A Norwich family had quite a shock when they found a furry intruder had taken up residence in their living room, after a stray ferret sneaked into their home. The uninvited guest made his way into the house in George Pope Road in Catton Grove on Thursday and was taken along to Catton Veterinary Clinic to be looked after. Sam Leeks, head nurse at the Constitution Hill veterinary practice, appealed for the owner of the animal, who has been named Simon by staff, to reclaim him. She said: “One of our clients found him in their living room. They don’t know how he came to be in there – whether he had gone through a cat flap or what. “But they brought him to us and we have kept him up here for 24 hours. He’s lovely, he’s ever so friendly, so clearly he must have a home. He’s very energetic, so he might be quite young, but he is an adult.

Hope gets back home, sounds like a nice little bugger 🙂

They shouuld check for a chip, one of mine is chipped becaused it was the rescues policy. I’d adopt him but 4 was too many, 2 is plenty.

    lol

I would assume that’s standard practice.

usually it is, although its only recently that ferrets have been chipped – Defra only recently added them to the permitted species for PETS passports about 6 years ago.

East Anglian ferrets have won a lot of medals for England in European competitions..

Mind you Norfolk is a county where a tom cat strayed, and when picked up by rescue was so fat they initially mistook him for a pregnant queen as all the locals had been feeding him so much he weighed more than when he went missing (he was chipped though and returned to this owners).

he just walked straight into the cage and gobbled up the fish they put in there :laugh_at:

There was a programme on TV the other week called ‘The Merits of Ferrets’.

I didn’t bother to watch it, I just thought it was a funny name…

    Aww !!! poor little un!!
    they look so cute!!!
