so you couldn’t easily hide the tag where a thief couldn’t see it?
Wouldn’t be that easy as the thieves are most likely to repaint the boxes or swap the cones out and that way would unearth the tag. Also the tags themselves are made to be hard to remove once inserted and be reinserted for this very reason..
The tech is there but it works better to protect the property of normal business who play by the rules and will immediately co-operate with Police (although the people involved have now notifed the cops that all this equipment is stolen, they are entitled to protection of the law same as anyone else).
the only real solution is to only do parties attracting people who are genuine friends and you can trust and that might well involve a bit of “relocalisation”. I’m a Londoner and I think EA’s a really cool place but I find a lot of young folk are a bit naïve and overoptimistic compared to their counterparts in London/SE England.. It wouldn’t be the first time people from big cities have come up to these rural areas to rob “posh bumpkin kids”… also even within the region there’s a lot of hidden disagreements, jealousy and envy…
just mentiond this in tother post!
this is quite literally all over “the scene” now and alot of people & crews are doing the good thing and keeping eyes and ears out, the rig is too big for someones house, a club would not touch it with a barge pole, and whoever took it is not going to be silly enough to try & start raving it,
unfortunately when i put my sherlock mind to it there are 3 possiblities
its someone they know
its unsavory types from a big city who followed them home
the kit has been sold to a forighn crew
these people will get found its pretty specialist equipment, and if it is from bumpkin land then surely all will come out soon enough, its worse than coronation street up there!
I don’t think any of that kit could get re-used round here but it could easily be sold the other side of the country :hopeless: (actually I’ll warn the Scots as well in case it goes North of the border)
and the only reason the clubs here won’t touch it is that there aren’t many clubs left here and those what exist would be put beyond their acceptable noise levels and locked off very quickly indeed..
I’m keeping an open mind about what could have happened but TBH todays rave scene is more ruthless and many people simply cannot be trusted when bad times arrive and people get envious of each others posessions
even before all this happened I used to go to the events by one of these crews and there were little scrotes getting in what were robbing coats and other bits and pieces from the crew :hopeless:

i doubt many clubs up and down the country would take it tbh, its gonna be almost impossible for that kit to be raved now any where in the country, one good thing that things like sj, fb & pv have got going for the scene is now every rig knows this stuff has been pinched, yes the bins can be repainted etc, buts its gonna be very hard to discuise the whole lot, espacially when you have people keeping an eye out for it,its definatly worth reposting to all contacts any body has,
i think the theif is known to them,
was loking at squatjuice last night and someone posted a link to a dogsonacid.com post with the above kit being sold, people were on the case but it couldve been a windup,
when it does get found i think naming shaming & caining is in order!
well round here all the late night clubs are townie clubs with enough house rig rather than specialist music clubs, the authorities simply won’t permit anything else after both specialist dance clubs got shot up by Londoners..
I think the DOA post is a windup but if that kit was stored where I think it usually is its not a place you’d just stumble across – it is proper out in the sticks, I’ve only been there once a few years ago and can’t remember the way to it as it was after a heavy party and I was hammered so it could have been someone what went there fairly recently…
