A massive fire has erupted at a burger factory in Lowestoft, with reports of chemical canisters exploding.
Residents near the Wessex Food plant in Hadenham Road have been urged to keep windows and doors closed to prevent breathing problems.

I’m just up the road from where it was now GL. Had windows and doors open, thought the neighbours were having a bonfire it was that smoky! Burned for a couple of days too.
It looked pretty hench and I’m a few miles away.
A friend of mine works in the fire service and was fortunate not to be working that day (or called in) as it was just a case of containing the blaze for ages = boring job standing and directing the hose in the same place.
Their main concern was the nitrogen tanks close to the back of the factory… straight behind that is a petrol station!

:hiding:
appparently its a crisis on a similar level to the pie factory up North catching alight last year…. at least no one got hurt, I never realised that all BK’s burgers (which were otherwise OK) were sourced from there!
ew!
yummy … flame grilled 😀
It’s still burning inside certain parts of the factory. Tons of cooked rotten meat is being left to the rats. It stinks something foul.
Enviro health are getting involved as it’s becoming a bit of an issue I think. Especially as it’s right next to a Morrison’s supermarket.

They must be the luckiest rats in Suffolk! I would be more concerned over filth flies after this weeks one-man war on them.. :yakk:
not enviro problems now.. the lowestoftians dont need any more extra toes!
