Lost mains power on Sunday morning, (still stayed online, there are 4 UPS units in my house :laugh_at: had to call the UK Power Networks man.
To be fair the 105 call centre was really helpful although they did have me resetting the breakers in my house (which I knew hadn’t tripped) and looking in the meter cupboard which I knew was off supply and so were a few other folk in the street..
Dude turned up only 1/2 hour later and replaced a feeder pillar fuse, even managed to get a pic of the van and the fuse (I didn’t take a pic of the feeder pillar as the substation is very near my house and I don’t want anyone monkeying around in there!)
This fuse had opened (400A, takes a lot to do that!)
everything in my house stayed working other than my telephone exchange which blew its power suply due to a combination of the rough UPS power and possible surge down the combined neutrall/earth when power was restored, had to rebuild one out of a old laptop with busted keyboard…
