Unfortunately, Suffolk cops are as stubborn and tenacious as the ravers (many other constabularies wouldn’t have bothered once the convoy had gone out of their force area)
Police in the North Cotswolds have shut down a rave in the Stanway Hill area after getting a tip off from police in Suffolk.
Officers arrived at the site just before 1am on Sunday as vehicles were beginning to congregate near to the site and turned away the large number of partygoers after seizing alcohol from them.

Chief Superintendent Gavin Thomas, Cotswold and Stroud Divisional Commander, said: “This successful intervention shows that where we have clear information that an unlicensed event is going to take place, we will act to ensure it doesn’t happen.
“The original intelligence was received from Suffolk Police, so this is not just a great example of co-ordinated working within Gloucestershire Constabulary, but also of successful consultation between forces as well.

Its a shame cos gloustershire police have been pretty lenient on partys for the last year or two. Been to and thrown some great partys there!
How can you have an area saturated with surface water AND susceptible to fire???
Didn’t you know? water is one of the most flammable substances known to man.
These coppers know there stuff:biggreen:
this is the sort of thing people (not just cops) seem to routinely come out with in Gloucestershire – I’ve been raving there myself a couple of years ago and seem people who can easily outdo East Anglia for “yokel-ness” :laugh_at:
That said, I see no light relief in the fact that for all their rustic simplicity, the bumpkin cops still worked together across over 200 miles to ensure a rave didn’t happen. They don’t normally put this effort in unless its for major case/incidents.
Something has happened comparatively recently to make cops across the Southern UK consider illegal raves to be fairly serious criminality…
They just don’t wan’t everyone to think there not doing anything. Its pretty much completely dead in norfolk from what i hear and theres still loads of partys every weekend down south. People will be starting to wonder if they did it in norfolk why cant they do it in other countys.
The cops could lock down the rave scene anywhere in the country with the kit and resources they have, especially as the “terrorist” threat is somewhat less than it was 3-4 years ago.
The cops could in fact have finished off the rave scene 8 years ago with their then available resources, and use of the then new legilsation such as asbos.
yet for whatever reasons they cut us a load of slack and essentially let us get away with it. whats going on in Southern England today means the parties what are still happening are pissing off enough locals for them to call the coppers and demand greater action – and/or concerned parents are getting angry about their kids overdoing drugs etc (I remember reading last year a lot of news reports about people overdoing ketamine in the forest of dean area…)
