I made this for work, as recently others in the Facilities team were on holiday so I ended up picking up a few minor jobs to re-lamp table/desk lamps in residents rooms. Lamps are often taken for granted, until they stop working!
Of course if you ask the other staff (who come from many parts of the world) they just say “its a normal kind of house lamp, or the small one” (and it is different if they are from UK, RO, PL, PH, IN or LK) and we have people from all these countries. Added to this, buying lamps in bulk (particularly the new energy saving types) is often cheaper via the Eurozone suppliers but they of course use the EU designators.
I could never remember myself what the new ones are, and if I didn’t make a list of them I would soon enough end up with the wrong kind and then I would be sitting in the darkness and cursing a lamp.
