MXE has been class B controlled in UK since 2013. Ketamine itself was reclassified from C to B around the same time; which isn’t without impact to legitimate users such as vets and hospitals as they have to do a lot more paperwork each time a dose is administered.
As for the ketamine drought itself that arose because ketamine overuse in the 2000s led to a lot of formerly healthy young people in the UK and worldwide getting irreversible medical problems “down below” which are very uncommon amongst those below the age 70-100+ ; there is no way any country in the world can tolerate this level of problematic drug use.
It is one of the few times I begrudgingly agree with drugs control laws although the authorities conveniently forget K took over from other party drugs because those became harder to obtain following crackdowns.
I noticed K doesn’t seem to be half as popular in NL or on mainland Europe and the other foreign countries it did become popular in were those which previously had stricted laws including death penalty against party drugs users..
