  • This picture always makes me think of daftfader :laugh_at:

Haha the old barrow boys :laugh_at:

The wife of the guy I used to buy hash off of, when I smoked it, once told me she used to be a barrow girl when she was younger. I didn’t know that would of been P.C. back then as it was allways barrow boy, paper boy, shoe shine boy etc. Alltho to be fair on her I think colour photo’s were around when she was little so mby it wasn’t that long ago. :laugh_at:

some cats meat men used to have a cry like a mewing cat/kitten and all the cats would follow them :laugh_at: – the meat was from old horses what couldn’t be used for transport any more.

colour photo film was available by the 1940s and commonplace in amateur by the 1960s/1970s – my late father (like most Chinese) enjoyed photography and was still able to afford to shoot both stills and movie film in the late 1960s and early 1970s, despite then being a recent immigrant to the UK raising a family in a rented house in SE London. Groceries were sold out of barrows in London well into the 1970s….

today me and my mate were talking about the logistics of transporting poultry (geese, ducks etc) from East Anglia to Lnndon – this happened many centuries before Bernard Matthews..

Do you think you could train a duck or goose like you could a homing pigeon? Do they have the same sence of direction? If they did then they could transport them selves about the contry for you. Alltho as I’m typing that I’m realising that that would mean you would take them to the butchers and they would just fly back to the farm which is pretty useless. :hopeless:

Surely allready butchered is the way to go in refrigerated vehicles?
