true, its not illegal to have the manuals – TBH many contain outdated and inaccurate/dangerous info and are 20-30 years old anyway. Their main charges are due to viable IED’s or parts of them being found at their home.
It is similar to how the Reading-based bomber Neil Lewington was arrested in North Suffolk (in the same town a fair few people fom this site live in!) with some “dangermouse” style bombs – crude but potentially nasty incendiaries.
The Police and Security Service (MI5) are now increasingly investigating right-wing bombers as well as the Islamic threat.
if an 18 year old Scottish teenager has the file but is either non-political or progressive in his views (but not involved in animal rights or eco-protesting) he would be very unlikely to get in trouble. As tempting as it may be, don’t try anything in them books though for fun, or you risk hurting yourself and others due to the inaccuracies. I fondly remember the long distant days when a young British Asian lad could experiment with things like this as harmless mischief without being hauled off by the Metpol anti-terrorist squad :laugh_at:
