Made me giggle when I heard it, I couldn’t imagine anybody else than you doing it 🙂
Where does that love for cats come from?
I think its an ancestral thing shared by Asians and North Europeans in coastal areas, as cats were valued on board ship to keep the cargo safe from rats and mice and in libraries and universities (so the rodents would not gnaw at the books). A lot of military men especially those who have been in in the air force and done surveillance work like cats as they are also good at surveillance.
There was a BBC film a year ago where they attached portable cameras and GPS monitors to some cats to see where they went, and there was this quiet old man who clearly was ex RAF and would have been looking out for Soviets on radar etc and his tomcat would always patrol the same area in an exact circle, just like how a radar scanner works.
I think i saw that film on Discovery Channel.
They are their own masters
just tried to move it to Pets and animals but not sure if I can (if Dr B can from post 12 would make sense, as the first mention of my odd cross species bonding exercise is still related to event safety control. I do even have a youtube video where a middle aged Dutchman goes to the cat show near Rotterdam, meows with an Oriental Shorthair and then says to him in Dutch “why are you complaining? Auntie is looking after you well” :laugh_at: Out of curiosity I compared this with film of a UK cat show and the Dutch had given way more space for it and their cats were far less stressed (as were the owners)
Might be all the weed in NL :biggreen:
I had a cat when I was a kid too, I begged to get and pretended I couldn’t live without it before my granny said yes. And she ended up loving that cat.
I have never seen a cat like him before. She didnt want him in the livingroom and I can’t remember him ever going in there, he was lying on the floor in the hall and had just 1 paw in the livingroom, he was a bit like a dog I think.
I lived in a small town when I had my twins and we always had cats, we had so many mice we had to get 3 and we found dead mice every day.
Then I moved out, I hate mice :yakk:
