Well, according to that thing I’ll be about £400 better off. Mainly down to NI contributions and Tax Credits. I don’t recieve any tax credits as far as I’m aware though. I do they detail that in to your tax payments? Or do you just get a rebate? Not really clear about this.

normally you need kids but I think some lower earners may get “working tax credit” (although mine came out as £0 :you_crazy)

check on HM Revenue and Customs website (I’d rather not post a referring link here given the nature of some of our other threads )

I will be£27 worse off which doesnt sound like alot but when your as poor as me it soon makes a difference

I thought it was more for the EU members…from what I understand if you are eligible in your EU home country to claim benefits… then if you are living in another EU member state (like the UK)you are entitled to the same… hence (for example) polish mums claiming for children that are theirs.. but who might still live in Poland…

(Unfortunatley due to the LAX people doing the checks some people from a range of EU countries have taken the piss and have made up false children.. as they didnt at that time actually physically check that they existed)

This works also for unemployment benifit etc also… (Not 100% sure but pretty sure…)

Whereas if you are from a non EU country then you are entitled to diddly squat unless you are a refugee/asylm person…

And the way the EU is expanding its only a matter of a few years I reckon until it spreads all the way to NZ so I can come back and work without having to get a visa 🙂

Well, I had not entered that I had kids and when I have checked previously I’m not eligable for working tax credits. Maybe they’ve change it now though.

yea i tried that but i am not eligible for anything which kind of sucks really but hey not alot else i can do really except get a saturday job to get some extra money

i think its a load of shite! sadly i only earn 14200 a year but thankfully my djing bumps that up quite a bit. its a right fucker at the end of every month when i look at what is being taken off me and then thinking i’m payin my mates dole for a few weeks. But i think its rough to tax the highly paid more since usually they work their balls off to put themselves in a position where they would earn that sort of cash. My dad earn 75000 a year and gets taxed a huge amount, he works from 8am and is still workin when i get in around 2am, i think his wage reflects the amount of work he does and he shouldnt be penalised through tax. he could actually prob get a lower paid job which he doesnt hav to do so much work and take home not that much less than he does now.

i think a set amount should be paid by everyone and more should be done to get people off the dole and into work.

At the end of the day, if you want to earn big bucks then u should put the work into doin it. When you have achieved your goal of high pay u shouldnt be made to pay through the nose for your achievement. If everyone was working then obviously more monies could be paid to the state rather than people sittin on their arse with their hand out and then havin the cheek to complain that they get such low dole.

These days yr better off not working, u get more. Yr rent free, no council tax etc. then when they are old and need to go to a oap home they get that free aswell. Where as, u work yr balls off all yr life, pay high stupid taxes, end up owning yr own home from it all. Then when yr old and need to be in oap home, you have sell yr house to pay for it.

Why should the workers be penalised??

Just checked my eligibility for tax credits.

Turns out I am entitled to working tax credit. They are willing to pay me £0.00 a month to top up my wages! :weee:

do you earn less than £18,500 per year?

    any thoughts?

ffs, its hard/impossible enough getting thru a month as it is. and its gonna be a while before im gettin over that amount unless they gimme a pretty hefty raise at work.

i know the richer do pay more anyway, but they can spare it.

well now they pay the same as us poor folk i dont understand it i really don’t. oh well.

i wish there was a way i could get by without paying taxes, like by doing work that doesnt involve a paycheck every month. and not by selling drugs.
but thats too hard to do. i have to travel to work, therefore i have to have a car, therefore i have to pay roadtaxes and petrol, therefore i have to earn above a certain amount, therefore i have to have a bank account and therefore i pay taxes. fucking gay system.

also i like my creature comforts, like cigarettes, the odd beer, vinyl……………….. and soundsystems!
