so far ive got Glade, Offworld, Shamania. Anybody know of any others that might be happening, big or small…
Thanks…
Have you had a hunt around psyforum and suchlike places ? I used to keep track of psytrance events for a mailing list, but sadly haven’t had either the time nor the inclination for a few years now 🙁
yeah im keeping an eye on psymusic.co.uk, just wondered if anybody had any little gems or recomendations…
how come? you gonna go to any next year? or you just not that into it any more?
I’ve done a few searches and the best listing i can find online is your “festivals 2009” thread here on PV !
Be nice to find a smaller one, I agree. Don’t know where to go ourselves this year. Glade is too much of a mission due to its size (plus they pissed us off the first couple of years by refusing to allow an accompanied 12 year old, so now we don’t feel like supporting them in return). Had a disappointing Shamania last year due to various things – the weather wasn’t their fault but the site isn’t very forgiving to wind and rain, being on an exposed hilltop, and sammi keeps making comments about “not going back to that cowfield” ! Waveform sounded good on paper but have doubts whether they’re sound people ?
I’m really surprised there’s nothing else, there used to be loads of small psy-festies around the country. Hopefully they will still happen and start getting publicised in the next couple of months.

Mostly cos I had a shitty illness which knocked me back for a long while and I lost the strength and organisation to keep the mailing list going. Plus everyone decamped to web BBSes instead of mailing lists ! I ‘ve lurved psytrance for years but TBH I feel it’s been very samey for a long while and I just got bored with always hearing the same unrelieved 145bpm hard trance all night long every time I went out. Haven’t really heard anything very different for ages. So it didn’t help me keep on top of the struggle !

yeah i never made it to shamania last year, think it was the same time as big chill or shambala? is it not very good then?
Some of my mates went to waveform last year and said they had a brilliant time, saying that tho, they’d probably have a good time where ever they went..
hard trance? :yakk:
not a fan of that shit at all. I love proper psy, but ive really been starting to get into my progressive stuff, those flower powder mixes off of here are well good. The oood ones in the d/l section are ace as well
Have you heard of that offworld festival? do you know anyone that went last year? it looks pretty good from the website…
Agartha Festival looks like it’s going to be rather fun! They used to do large parties/festivals on the beaches of Mexico, and they’re now moving to the UK to host a psytrance festival… MySpace.com – Agartha Festival – UK – Psychedelic / Other – http://www.myspace.com/agarthafestival
And there was also Thimbleberry Festival this year… Thimbleberry Music Festival
The UK seems to be getting better every year in terms of psy festivals.
Offworld was effin’ rocking last year and even more so this year! All the freedom of a free party, but with a licensed site. Perfect sound-system, 24 hour music, AMAZING decorations, lovely location, proper hippie vibes. Was perfect, tbh.
I know loads of people who loved it this year,
If it happens this looks sick

Found another one: Bearded Theory Festival…
“Bearded Theory Festival 2009 – nr Ashborne, Derbyshire.
Large Greenfield site hosts the second Bearded Theory, this time a full 3 days and in aid of Shelter.
There will be a great mainstage, for details see http://www.beardedtheory.co.uk but the dance tent is looking splendid! We have a circus big top, a top light show and décor and it’s an Opus soundsystem..
Line up still to be organised but the confirmed artist so far are as follows…
Green Nuns of the Revolution
Ed Tangent
Zetan Spore
Skyhighatrist
Prognosis
Mad Mick
Techno Hippie
Sunfish
Bez23
Digitalis
Barclay
Tetchi
Cheryl Technomedic
Honky Dub
Kate Technodolly

Capacity is 1500 and tickets for the whole weekend are £45 and as I said before, its all for the homeless charity Shelter. There will be a full bar selling good booze at good prices, a tea tent / open mike area, firepit and as they are confirmed I will update with other areas etc..
Tickets are selling well, we did it this for the first time in 2008 and sold out 500 tickets, had a top weekend (check out reviews on efestivals.co.uk and other type sites!!) …oddly enough, we ended up being nominated and then shortlisted for the UK Festival awards…
…anyway, the dance tent is in the hands of good people and we are going to have a top weekend, hope to see you there!!”
GREEN NUNS OF THE REVOLUTION OUTSIDE! Nice. 😀 😀 😀 😀
Did you check out the link for Agartha, ‘Process??
